You are extremely talented.  This footage is amazing.  No wonder Canadians are so happy.  I checked out the rest of your YouTube channel btw and subscribed.  I look forward to your next video.  So what drone did you use and what editing software?

Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it and took the time to check out my YouTube channel.  The drone used was the Mavic Pro and edited using Premiere.

Beautiful scenic footage. Wow so many haters that commented on the YT site. Guess those live in BC and are anti-drone.

Very nice scenery however flying in Stanley Park at the height of the Lions Gate bridge is a definite NO NO.  Right on the approach path for the seaplane landing in the bay.  Flying in the National Parks is also illegal and they NEVER give ordinary folk permission to fly there, I've asked, no go and I have a standing SFOC from Transport Canada.

All Provincial Parks, not National.  Nothing wrong with sneaking in a few shots from a real helicopter ; )

You're gifted, indeed. You're also young, strong and agile. You can hike far and high to reach places. Keep going, filming and sharing with us ...

You should know, however, that extremely high living expenses in Vancouver are not directly related to such spectacular scenery. New Zealand - for example - has similar gems to offer, but is not for sale.

Thanks for the great compliment and thanks for watching.  Yes, some, not all of the older generation are having a hard time adjusting to how quickly technology is evolving.  I get dirty looks for listing to my little speaker at respectable volume levels while hiking, despite how annoying their bear bells are.  To each their own.

Thanks Matthew.  Strength and youth is a mind set.  BC men and women in there mid 60's still blow past me on the most difficult of hikes.

Ever since the release of LOR I've wanted to go to New Zealand.  I would need a few extra memory cards and a dozen batteries as the landscapes are out of this world.

Vancouver is a no fly zone ! Sad

Well.....it is and it isn't.  The rules for drones have changed 3 times this year lol.  Most people in Canada think you just cannot fly them anywhere.  These two links will help you out;

https://www.tc.gc.ca/media/docum ... g_for_fun_EN-V8.pdf

Flying drones in Canada's National Parks is prohibited unless authorized. See here : http://bit.ly/2alXX68 and here : http://bit.ly/2aBBcgV for more details.

Key things to keep in mind are the weight of your drone dictates the laws.  Also most of Vancouver parks are Provincial and Regional, not National.  Another thing to remember is the height you fly your drone is not measured by sea level, it's measured by where you take off from.

Hope that helps.  : )

Thank you! And thanks for watching the video.

I got the Mavic a little late in the year to capture the beauty of the trees this year. Looking forward to capturing them next year. Maybe we'll get lucky and get some snow - then I can attempt to get some snow-covered trees!
