Excellent.  It took all of 10 minutes with DJI Assistant 2 to update Spark and extra batteries.  Thanks for the constant support of my Spark.

Great...just in case...is a downgrade to .0800 / 0.701 still possible? Or are you stuck now on .0900?

Lol, get the updated app available first then come back later to post the FW update.

Sorry DJI, but your Android support is a joke

Where is this DJI GO 4.1.22 update? It is not in the QRcode or in the address m.dji.net/djigo4.
They announce the update, however, without availability. How long will we be treated as idiots?

I'm with you; they can't leave the OTG link scr3wed up so bad.
Hey DJI, did you want me to send my spark back for not being able to use the OTG link? I still have 2 more weeks, then if you don't fix it you'll see it getting back to you. And money back, since thas is an intolerable disabling on your part of the main feature I bougth it for.

As they are not supporting the OTG for Spark officially you cannot send it back because of this not working.
Yes its curious that they still not provide a fix for all platforms to be able to use it but it is at it is.
Maybe when more customers are complaining they will be faster with this, but threaten them by things like youre doing with your post does not help.

If only there was an OTG issue....

Are you saying it's not an issue but just a widespread misunderstanding of how to use it? I don't know since my Spark arrived on Monday and I still have to fly it, but I've seen a lot of people saying clearly that something has changed and OTG is messed up, but if there's a workaround I'm all ears

Well, so fast another one. This will either completely kill fcc usage in Europe or will fix a hidden issue on 0.800. It really makes no sense to release firmware after firmware, we all know writing a new firmware generates a risk of bricking the drone.

Sorry, No I am not saying that....
All I was getting at is that the OTG is not supported by DJI so the fact that it no longer works won't be recognised as an issue by them......
As I said if only it was an issue then  they might make it work 100%.

You are in error, it can be returned at any time because Spark is working in FCC mode (illegal in the EU) and only a few selected in the EU can use android - RC link on 5.8Ghz .. There is no problem to return Spark at any time. Moreover, in the EU we have 14 days to Trying goods after the purchase and within this time we can go back without giving a reason ..

Maybe you have rights for giving it back without any cause. But they do not post anywhere that they officially support the otg for the Spark.

Can someone from DJI confirm if this firmware upgrade also works with App version 4.1.15, which some people have recommend users downgrade to?   Despite DJI only stating battery change formware change, we know they slip other changes in too, which they don't publish.

I would do it, but I've grounded my Spark until DJI start telling the truth about App and firmware changes.

If I am on .701 do I need to upgrade to .800 first to add reliability to the update process and than to .900 or I can go directly to .900 from .701?
Are there any issues with .800?
I've read some threads complaining about gimbal having problems after .800 upgrade so that's why I was reluctant to upgrade to .800.

oh boy, DJI have tied people in knots now with their multiple, phased and mixed-up App and firmware releases.  It's a consumer drone DJI, you're  managing to suck the fun out of owning one.

Spectacular incompetence.

I would recommend to first update your Spark to firmware to .800 before updating it together with all your batteries to .900. The .800 update was for Spark only and to my knowledge no issues with it have been reported in this forum, and quite certainly no gimbal issues. Other reported issues only relate to versions of DJI GO 4, which are not related to the firmware.

Could be as a result of a customer losing his spark after 2 minutes into the flight. He started with 90% on the battery but that didn't coincide with the voltage of the cells, the spark dropped out of the sky. But then again it could be for something completely different...........

I'm not sure on if you have to upgrade to .800 and then .900, but I can say that I have been on .800 firmware and no issues with gimbal. I'm running version 4.1.15 of the android app. Hope this helps.

Ok but when is Dji going to solve other problems? There is a huge problem in the EU of 5.8Ghz WiFi, which makes more than half of EU users able to fly barely 150m. Why does not this also solve this problem?

Well I wouldn't hold my breath, that way if DJI doesn't fix the problem you don't get disappointed (again). We are at the mercy of DJI, nobody is going to report this to the their local EU FCC equivalent. Why would you want to run the risk by breaking the law getting caught and them knowing that you know the thing uses an unlicensed 5Ghz channel. You would probably be fined and lose the equipment.
