There is something special with the first ice on the ocean during the winter.

Speeded this one up a lot it's originially 5,30 long and I was shooting in Auto, forgot to set it to manual so the light changes a bit.

Lovely place. I like the speed ups. 'o)   Lived in Minnesota for a couple decades, so I'm familiar with the phenomenon (altho lately cars and ice fishing cabins are often on shaky ground, so to speak).

Yes that is something to watch out for. There were a lot of kids skating on some smaller lakes on the way out to the ocean.
