Hi,

I have a park and have done the following:

* successfully connected a phone to the spark (after an absolute matarhon)
* successfully updated the firmware ofthe spark
* successfully flows the drone using just the phone.
* decided to get the controller and bought it.
* successfully connected the controller to the drone.

now we get to the next frustrating bit.

I can't seem to properly connect the phone to the controller.

I can connect to the controllers wifi.

I can get the app to recognise that there is a formware update for the controller

I can seem to get it to successfully update the firmware of the controller over wifi.  It reports to do it correctly.

But I can't then connect to the drone through the controller from the phone using the 'Enter Device' link in the app.

Also after resetting everything, the app then says that there is a new firmware upgrade, but it is same one that was supposedly successfully updated before.

please help!!!!!

Uninstall the app and install it back on
Log in again, check again.

I eventually fixed it.

Firmware upgrade was the key.

I foolishly followed the instructions properly.

When it says to manually restart the controller, DON'T RESTART THE CONTROLLER.  You need to press the "COMPLETE" button first BEFORE restarting the controller.

This makes the world of difference.

So the onscreen instructions are WRONG and don't help what is, I must say is an APPALING experience.  I spent hours getting this thing to work.  Heaps of frustration that really ruins the excitement of buying a very expensive drone.

A LOT more work needs to be done before you can call this 'ready to fly'.   May 'ready to fly afterhours of frustration, pain and agony'.

BTW I am an IT professional and not a NOOB.  I have a LOT of experience with these types of devices, and many others beside.

Ben, glad you solve the problem. Have fun with your spark and wish you a happy new year.

I can not get my phone app to recognize the controller. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Switch devices and cable. I don’t know how to check the firmware version that I’m on as well. I’m really at a complete loss
