Pro + controller (will it work with standard P4)

Hi

I know this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find any real-world difinitve YES!!.
So my question is can I upgrade and buy a Phantom 4 pro plus+ controller to use with my Standard-Phantom4.

Reason is > I can never see my screen either using my S6-Edge or SG-Tablet, even with a big stupid screen cover, also the usb cable whilst short always seems to get in the way, I only use DJI app so if the pro plus controller does work I think it will be a good choice for me.

Also are there any other advatages to using this pro plus controller over a standard controller >
ie - Better signal or range, extra ports should i get FPV, ect ect.

Thx Paul

It more about the disadvantages of using the dedicated Plus controller, in that the dedicated screen cannot run any other applications, so you are lmiited to only using the Go 4 app. You get no greater range or such with it either and it is not immune to the app crashing.

I'm new to DJI drones so only use the DJI app, but I have never had my app crash as of yet using my Samsung tablet, so that's a worry.
But back to my main point, are you defo sure I can actually use the Pro-Plus controller if I was to buy one?

I am not sure if you can actually use the Pro+ controller on a standard P4, let's wait until someone comes along that knows the correct answer.

Have a look at this thread the answer appears to be no:-

https://forum.dji.com/thread-125182-1-1.html

Edit:- Or am I wrong ? https://forum.dji.com/forum.php? ... &fromuid=154551

I think further clarification is needed from DJI

Just looking a few posts down that thread, DJI-Susan appears to say the P4P+ controller will work with the P4: https://forum.dji.com/forum.php? ... 7&fromuid=84967

It seems very odd as P4P and P4P+ RC essentially same unit, unless there's some DJI skulduggery going on

Yes, it does seem puzzling.

Yes read most treads including this that seems to say yes >  https://forum.dji.com/thread-112212-1-1.html
But as I said the more you read the more confusing things become!

Do actual DJI people reply to these threads, because other than a person with both drones to test with, I'm not sure what to believe, its a big money risk on the back of a YES posted on a forum.

Hopefully someone will come along with answer.

Big thx so far for the posts
Paul

'Do actual DJI people reply to these threads, '

DJI-Susan is a representative of DJI, so yes.

OK (just checking as name tags are not always what you think)
I will send her a personal message just to confirm what model number I need to buy.

Thx Paul

That's a good idea.

Hi Paul, confirm that the P4 aircraft is compatible with the P4P+ RC with built-in screen. You can change the RC type from here: Remote Controller Settings>Advanced Settings>Remote Controller Type. Click P4 and restart the RC to link the aircraft, you will see the live video.

As another option you could always just buy a Crystal Sky monitor for use with your P4 controller:-

Yes the P4P+Controller can be used on the Standard-P4 drone.
