I took the chance of performing the latest firmware update as soon as it was released.
I probably knew better, but since it went so well on the last update, I figured no problem.
Well I was wrong!!
After performing the update in the directed way, my bird just keep beeping "B-B-B-B" for over
an hour. I decided to shut it off at that time. I went ahead and performed the RC update on
2 remotes without any issues. Then I fired up the master RC and Pilot App. on an ipad mini 2.
Turned on the Bird and NO Video??? Shut eveything down and tried again. Still NO Video??
Decided to check the log files on the SD card and here is what I got:
I erased everything and reformed the SD card to FAT32 and copied the .bin file to it.
Tried to update the bird again and got the same thing. Tried several more time and still
getting same results
I ALWAYS get module 8 and 15 show "device not detected" and update stops.
I believe that module 8 is the air encoder and 15 is the air USB. I assume the air encoder is the
module that handles the video downlink? Please confirm.
Everything else with the RC's and Bird seem to work OK except NO Video Downlink.
From my opinion, it appears that device 8 and 15 somehow got their "loader firmware"
corrupted during the first update sequence and now will not respond to a firmware version check,
so the update just quits!
DJI: You have some type of software issue with these firmware updates! It should not go like this
and I have read many posts on the internet with customers having very similar issues.
In fact there are 2 or 3 customers who have posted here with exactly the same problem as me.
You need to take 20 or more of your units and perform the exact update steps that you have
told your customers and see if any of these 20 units have problems with the update procedure.
I bet at least 1 will.
If you are going to provide this method of updating firmware, then maybe you should just take
all the birds back from customers and perform the update yourself.
This is what's frustrating about auto update and lockout. No video and have tried all solutions found on web. Thinking of air gap inspire so it does not know update is available. Total bs for 3k
Similar issues, but I can't find a fix, having tried everything from re-downloading the app, different micro-sd cards, different formatting (Ms Dos, ExFAT?), variations on the update procedure sequence, even expanding the zip file using different software (someone said it would only work if expanded by WinZip so I downloaded WinZip for Mac - but it made no difference...)
When I first tried the update I got a variety of beeps and flashes, the camera seemed to move around a lot and the text file said the update had failed. The supplied TB47 battery seems to have been murdered as it is now totally unresponsive. No lights, no charge. There is no camera feed to the app, although gimbal control is working. The controller updated fine. I've been trying all the different permutations found on the internet for updating the firmware but after a week i'm about to give up. the sound I get is like a dot matrix printer (which I believe according to some is to be expected) and it just goes on and on. the text file result is failed - sometimes "unsynchronized" and the advice is to reboot the aircraft and try again. and again and again.... sigh... and i've never really flown the machine, just a few back garden ups and downs prior to the firmware update, during which everything seemed fine. I guess it all has to go back to the dealer (FastLad Performance UK) - but what a pain. One thing I wonder about - what is the mini usb on the BACK of the camera for. Is there some way of resetting the aircraft to default setting via it? Or is there a reset button somewhere else I could try?
I had the same issue as some of you. I did the updates, I thought everything went smooth but the video down-link would not show. When I enabled the histogram, I could tell the camera was working fine by the changes but still a blank screen on the tablet.
Support helped me out. What they did was sent me to a link to download different version of pilot app for android.
Same Problem, I 'm waiting for reply from DJI europe
No vidéo, and Dji app tell me to re install Aircraft upgrade. But, impossible to re install "abort" everytime.
WHY do I do this Upgrade !!!!

Just a thought - does the "abort" message not mean that the firmware is already updated? i.e. that it doesn't need to update and therefore "aborts" the process?
This video shows Peter Homer summarising the issues affecting my Inspire 1 camera after updating to WM610_FW_V01.02.01.00.
Peter's bloodhound brain, by a systematic process of elimination (his Holmes to my Watson!), identified that it was my camera at fault - specifically that the lightbridge link between the camera, the I1, to the controller isn't working. The camera does record video and stills, and the gimbal responds normally. My camera does not work on Peter's aircraft. It seems the firmware update has taken for the Inspire 1 itself - but not the camera. I'm hoping DJI can suggest a fix. The other result of the update is a totally dead TB47 battery. It won't charge or react in any way.
Detailed below are my solo attempts to resolve the issue before Peter H graciously offered to go through the update with me...

The (3 hour!) session with Peter replicated the install process using Windows and the iOS app (which seems superior to the Android version) – indicating that this was NOT a factor in the problems I experienced.
same here just got lucky that the video like is still active on my side but got the dead Batt too
was in DJI live chat for 4h and the end it needs to be send in for repair

Nous avons effectué un test avec le revendeur. Nous avons mis la camera sur un autre Inspire1 et la mise à jour a bien été effectuée. Mais toujours pas d'image vidéo sur écran android. Juste écris "no signal".
I did the updates, In process it gave an error, n now cant update inspire1. always giving a long beep error. can n see frm the DJI Pilot app tht the firmweare is latest but the video down-link would not show. When I enabled the histogram, I could tell the camera was working fine by the changes but still a blank screen on the tablet.
i wonder how come most people with the no signal issue, whether on the phantom or the inspire have the same codes with the 'device not detected' error message.
also despite the lines telling me about 'fimarware upgrade finished successfully' i always end up with a long & continuous beep which indicates that the firmware didn't actually upgrade because in the root log file i get this message :
========== 2014.01.01 00:00:06 remo-con disconnect======Packet: WM610_FW_V01.04.00.10.bin
Result: Failed.
Reboot the aircraft and try to upgrade the firmware again.
DJI update process just sucks the big one. So many pilot having issues. This updating should not be so difficult as we are seeing. The old Phantom and A2 worked fine. This form probably would have 50% less question if the updates worked the first time around.
