My little town with less than 3000 residents doesn’t have a huge downtown, but our buildings definitely have a lot of character. This courthouse was rebuilt in 1887 after a large fire. It has been in service since 1826!
The piles of sawdust you can see on the ground near the bottom of the opening frame are from a large maple tree that was damaged and needed to be removed. I ended up with a bunch of the wood from that tree which I am using to make wooden bowls, pens, and bandsaw boxes.
Nice stuff.... I get a chance to travel in the mid-west and south a bit and I love that town square setting you see in a lot of those smaller towns.
I flew a similar kind of town center in Decataur TX a while back.....
