Mavik is a tough nut to crack! It holds a ground-to-air missile strike.
Mavik is a tough nut to crack! It is easy to hold a rocket strike "zamlya-air".
During the New Year's fireworks, my Mavik received a free kick (see 01:27). The connection disappeared, the video recording stopped and the horizon left.
But the connection a few seconds later reborn. I turned on the recording - the camera continued to work. After landing, I checked that there are no visible damages. Then flew another battery without any problems.
Interestingly, the memory card does not fix the moment of hit. The recording stopped immediately. And on the smartphone, Mavik continued to transmit the video signal - so here is 720p - what I got from my smartphone from the DJI folder
Nice video. Would be very much interested in what your video setup on the MP was to capture these shots with such clarity...... if you dont mind sharing.
It's very possible that your Mavic didn't get struck at all. That erratic camera motion is, unfortunately, a very common occurrence for many of us - a problem that DJI apparently won't fix. Nice video otherwise.

Probably, there was no blow. There was an explosion of firecrackers next to Mavik. And it was struck by an explosive wave.
Thank you! But this is just a 720p record made by a smartphone. I'm already preparing a video for this New Year's flight. A little patience and it will be here
Kind of wild to see people shooting off those types of fireworks all over the place, right in the middle of the city. Here in southern California there are very few places where fireworks are allowed at all, mostly in remote desert areas.
Thank you! But the "good filming of the fireworks " will be a little later.
And here only I illustrate that fact. that Mavik just do not shoot down ....

And for me in California, when I was with you a few years ago, it was a lot surprising.
I like this forum, where we can see through the Mavik's lens life on the whole planet

This camera shot for the first time. Earlier this has happened many times, but I replaced the control cable of gimbal. After that, everything is fine.
Including the subsequent flights after the fireworks.
If on your Mavik the camera sometimes jerks, then the problem is probably in this control cable

We tried a couple of weeks before New Year's Eve different settings and shooting modes. We do not really like the follow-up treatment. Therefore, we decided on a simple version
PAL 4K
Manual:
ISO 800 ,
Shutter 25...50 ( right wheel is chosen according to the situation),
COLOR None
Style +1 0 0
Tried ISO1600 - the details are better, but noise is already noticeable. The noise is well cleaned in AdobePremier. But it's very long on my PС.

I don't think you were hit, otherwise it would have left some marks and your drone probably wouldn't be flying. It looks like the mid-air camera reset bug. If you update to the latest firmware it's supposed to be fixed (although I have never experience such issue and I couldn't tell)

Hello, thank you!
But I'm afraid to update to the latest version. My drone is no longer on a guarantee, and getting a brick after the upgrade is a possibility.
It was an isolated case. Probably, there was no blow. But there was a powerful wave from the explosion nearby. Next time I'll fly a little to the side and a little higher, like this guy :
I think that the optimal altitude is 150 - 170 iseters.
And not 120 meters, as I chose
Do you suppose this is a bird blow?
Hardly.
Birds do not bother my Mavik - I painted it to look like a wasp.
This coloration works well in nature. And I hope, will protect our birds from dangerous curiosity
