With deejayeye-modder you can simply turn 4.1.22 into FCC. The steps aren't very difficult to follow imo. I personally like the new feature to enter the device/camera view without already being connected a lot.

If FCC mode is all you are after there is no need to get into config files or hacking anything. If you are on android just download a fake gps app then you connect your Spark and it will prompt you to change WIFI region settings. DONE! After that delete your fake app but every time you start your spark you will receive the same message about WIFI region (this time ignore clicking cancel) That's it

With iOS (like myself) you need to download to your computer an app from the app store called Xcode (there are videos on youtube) the concept is basically the same it's just a bit trickier because you need to use Xcode which was something I wasn't familiar with. After you successfully used Xcode delete the app that has been created in your iPhone/ipad and you're done!

This way there is no hacking at all just tricking ;) I don't think dji would be upset if you play this trick rather than using a modded app with all the consequences that could derive from it in terms of voiding the warranty or risk of flyaways, etc. Honestly I wouldn't hack anything, I decided to use FCC because in CE my spark gave me connections problem after only 100mt away from me.

4.1.22 hasn't OTG support, better use the 4.1.15 version

My OTG works perfectly fine in the modded 4.1.22

Depending If want waypoints and other mavic flightmodes on your Spark, yeah you can do the fake gps thing.But  the modded had more advantages.....
At the end we all want the modded app because we want everything what is possible on the Spark.

Yeah the modded app (bases on 4.1.15) has it all. If you use Fake GPS you have only the FCC.
Be aware, in your log file DJI can always see that you are in a different country than flying (fake GPS)

4.1.15 FCC mod and orginal 4.1.22 on one device works! with app cloner premium version.
Both apps works perfectly.First install the mod app, then clone with app cloner, change icon color and name, then uninstall mod app, install the cloner app with new name and color, then download 4.1.22 from android store.

Thanks, did think of using that, but might be a step too far for me, the DJI GO 4 MOD app  is mostly a DJI app that I am comfortable with.

I would probably try Litchi if the Mod'ed app gives probs. But so far, so very good

It has a couple of features I don't want or need.
Namely, unlimited height and removal of NFZ restrictions, I still fly within CAA guidelines, but want to ensure a good connection to spark by using FCC transmission levels.
When I fly using CE transmission the connection is sketchy at best

You can choose in the client version what you want, if you want only FCC it can be done

You need a fake gps app, and make it availbe as fake gps in delopment meny. Starte fake gps app, choose some region in USA. Start Go4, acknowledge wifi regio settings (FCC), close fake GPS app. Nexttime u start Go4 cancel the reguest for chaning the Wifi region.

I am using only hacked app because:
1) FCC - its just safer. Stronger signal will give me a more time to reaction in a case of fly-away. Its not about a range. Its about reliability and safety.
2) anonymity - DJI will do not know where i am and what i do. I am not logging to their account, not sending and uploading anything. I am completely offline.

for those wanting to switch to FCC mode using iOS without an android or mac device.

just use your windows computer.

download an android emulator called, bluestacks. change your location via the inbuilt location spoofer of bluestacks (i.e some region in the US)
then download the dji go app.

connect to your drones wifi using your computer wifi.

and confirm the wifi network change that pops up.

when you connect your drone to your iOS phone just select cancel when the app asks you if you want to change regions.

viola, FCC mode the easy way. let me know if that helps you.

i'm not a huge advocate of hacking an app or device.  So i'd say no.

Forcing FCC in an CE country wont make any difference to a Mavic Pro
I think the Mavic Pro uses Occusync, a proprietary DJI communication system.

Must be a US thing... Never heard of it here in AUS

I have tried fake gps apps and although they work, they give a location in the USA. Not ideal when I'm in the UK.

It's ridiculous to limit everyone for a few stupid people. This is a collective punishment and not ethical!
What would you say if you were only going to produce cars that would be limited to 90km / h for now because some people do not comply with traffic rules?

Do not limit the software, everyone takes the weight of their actions individually, as it does elsewhere.
