I’m such an idiot!

Was having a fly about low level and managed to underestimate how far I was from a goal post and ended up hitting it!

I’ve broken 2 blades and smashed the front sensor cover! Can I get the cover from somewhere?

What checks should I make that it’s actually ok? It flys fine as I tested it in both Atti (indoors at home) and outside with GPS but not too high.

I have visually checked it all over and apart from what’s mentioned above I “think” it’s just cosmetic damage

The front sensors are fine as I flew it towards me and it senses objects

Any advice would be helpful..

Other than sending it to DJI for repair, this may be your only option

That cover is only good for storage.

You cant fly with a cover.
DIY!
Get one of the porno sunglasses (google) with flat lenses
And fit part of it into the Spark.
You can ask a optician, they should be able to cut that plastic down to the needed shape

I have one of those covers already for when it’s in my bag.

The cover has been snapped in two and luckily it still fits! I managed to put it back in place and it seems to be fine but I’m wondering if I should glue it?

I have taken it to 260ft high now and the only thing I can see that’s an issue is the gimbal horizon is way off! I had to adjust it loads to get it level!

DIY= DO IT YOURSELF

Or:
Create a new visor for your spark with cutting (let cut someone) a flat sunglas lens into shape

Seems like a good idea, but I am not sure it would work. I am betting that it is a special tinted plastic that works well for infrared light wave transmittance. Almost looks like it is a really deep red plastic, I wonder what special properties it has.

Chazzw, did your drone work now? Any error message? I feel sorry about your accident and please send it back for further check: http://www.dji.com/support. Thanks for your support.

It is a piece of plastic, like the ones in front of older TV-remotes
Even the color is about the same.
It is a visor for the sensors, that's it
OP can try,  start the bird 2m in front of a wall, fly a bit around, look for the feedback.
Now put some clear (whatever) plastic foil in front, try again
And now try with (whatever) plastic foil in red or blue or ......
(stationery can help, here)
And after that ask yourself: what is a sunglass else, as thicker plastic?

Here are some pictures

You can see from them I’m having to adjust the gimbal by 4.7 but once I’m flying it goes out again!

I’m guessing I’m going to have to send it in..

Good news that the repair was quick and easy.

Fly often, make repairs, fly more, then buy a Spark II when it comes out.  A Spark should end its life wearing duct tape, glue, bent props, and having a tilted horizon.  It is not a collector's item.

Not a collector's item like my rare Funko Pop Tie Fighter Pilot bobblehead with Tie Fighter.

I like how honest you were and you didn't blame it on the drone or DJI and you knew that it was human error. Were you in Sports Mode or flying sideways, because the front facing obstacle avoidance should have kicked in.
