Just flew the Tello in my living room. I kept getting ambient light warnings and it very wasn't dark. I could see where it could be quite a bit of fun with a controller. Without the controller I found it fairly difficult to control until I got used to it a bit. I thought it would be great fun to fly at night inside. But the ambient light maybe too much of an issue to even keep it.

Did fly the Tello this morning with more light and it did fly better. It still a bit of a wall scratcher when using the iPhone as the controller. Is there a way to just kill the power when it is flying as it is a little slow to initiate landing. Would be helpful when it's too near a wall and you can't back up quickly enough.

Had tello for a few days, and am very satisfied. Not at all noisy in my opinion, and great to fly. Will cope easily with 10 mph winds outdoors, and camera exceptional at the price.
Even good over grass, don't know about water.
30 ft high is fine.
Very unobtrusive and ready in seconds with phone.
Will I keep my spark? Of course!

Just bought the Tello. I was skeptical at first. But got this little guy anyway for my son. I own a Mavic Pro myself, but this little thing is really fun to fly. Averaging 9 mins flight time for wind and battery keeping it stable. Does tend to drift slightly but it is small. Great features as well. These little drone will be a huge impact this coming 2018 Holiday Season. Like the others have mentioned. If your on a budget. But your itching to fly a good drone. Anything DJI is gonna surely satisfy. The tello uses it's own Tello app. And I'll tell ya...its very responsive. Like other DJI Drones. Make sure its properly calibrated and firmware is good. And your ready to fly. DJI is the future.

The only real problem with the Tello is that it was released a bit premature IMHO.  Lack of support for controllers (no low cost "real" options for Android users), no multiple battery charger available at release, and same for spare batteries.  If these things were available at launch this product would be a runaway success.

I pinged Ryze tech support last night to ask a few questions....great support by the way.

I was wondering:
Q.  When would the additional batteries be avail?
A.  We are not sure, please keep checking.

Q.  The FAQ mentions a battery charger ...is that true?  When avail and how much $
A.  Yes, there will be a charger but we are not sure when it will be available or how much it will cost

Q.  Any other products besides Tello?
A.  The Tello is the only drone we currently offer.

I just literally got my shipping notice for my additional Tello battery, so it sounds like the additional batteries are becoming available.  Yay!

Now, all they need is a battery charger and a solution for a remote controller for Android and they'll be cookin'!  IMHO....

Disregard my prior post...I found the info:

Tello is currently compatible with the Gamesir remote controller or Apple MFi - Certified Bluetooth remote controllers

I have a Samsung A6 tablet (Android). Yesterday I ordered a Tello at dji.
What is the correct Gamepad Controller for it?

Got one of these today. Super stable, at least in the low wind conditions I had. Throw & go, flips, palm landing, slow and fast speed settings, this thing is fun to fly around.

Curious about the longevity of the brushed motors, but for such a tiny quad the build quality feels solid. Was looking for a fun groomsman's gift for the guys in my wedding. This might be it.

One thing I'll mention after flying the Spark, letting off the pitch on the Tello results in a slow stop. The Tello simply goes back to level resulting in residual drift. Where letting off the pitch with the Spark, especially in sport, will result in the ac pitching the opposite direction to force an almost immediate stop.  Almost crashed a couple of times due to this nuance, but also got used to it pretty quick.

Yesterday I have got the new tello from DJI store. I have waited for it only 3 days. SUPER DJI!!!
Now I have the problem, that I cannot open the Tello APP. Wifi is ok.
I get the -in German the  message-: Tello angehalten (stopped).Why???
I cannot open the app.
