Hello,

I noticed something today and am a bit stupified. When holding the osmo mobile like a torch, the joystick stops responding to any commands. No up, down, left or right.

Is that intended?

Thank you

Correction it has up-down movement but no left right on the account that the normally horizontal servo is now vertical and the normally vertical servo is now horizontal. Is there a way to fix this?

Hello Sir, sorry to read on this, please check if the Bluetooth has been disconnected, did you try to calibrate the gimbal in Gimbal Settings?

Yes the bluetooth is connected. The active track mode works left/right so its not a limitation of the hardware it must be a software bug. If the osmo mobile is horizontal the joystick no longer pans the camera left to right.

You mean like the manual says on page 13?
PUSHING THE JOYSTICK LEFT AND RIGHT HAS NO EFFECT.

Some would say: READ THE ... MANUAL.
But I'm not like that

Thank you for pointing it out. I did read the manual but must have missed it.

I still think there is no hardware related reason for that limitation.

I think that there is a hardware limitation. Think about how the panning works.  Then think about how that would work in flashlight mode.

Not sure why they implemented it, but they did.

I don't see why it would not work, but never needed it so far.

Oh, I guess I misunderstood your post, thanks Montfrooij for pointing out the problem and helping you out.
In Flashlight Mode, the left/right joystick will not work. flashlight mode.png
Hope the post will help other users who have the same problem.

Unfortunately this won't help us, we know it's not possible, that's why we are posting on this forum.

The issue is that this limitation is unnecessary, it is NOT a technical limitation (as the gimbal is panning when it's in tracking mode), in addition to that, it used to work on the original osmo mobile (before a certain firmware ~upgrade~  downgrade.  The smooth Q also does this without any problem.
I need this feature, without it I'll have to return my OM2 and wait for the Smooth Q2.
