Hey mate
Yeah im not one to disturb the wildlife thats for sure, if the Magpie was unhappy about it I woulda left him alone - or he woulda probably flew away!
I once had some nice video of a wedge tail eagle in a thermal with me ... or perhaps I was with him ;) but I was able to get within 1meter of him for over a couple mins (100 gram ultra micro with camera and tx onboard ), anyway I got flamed heaps on youtube from wildlife warriors telling me I was disturbing its habitat ... ffs he woulda just had to shake his talon at me and my little foamy would have been crushed into hundreds of little bits - anyway I think wildlife videos are the best kind to take with drones - gets us into situations where we normally wouldnt be able to !

1st part of the video was taken at Chermside in Brisbane and the 2nd part was in Redland Bay

Awesome video.
I made friends with chickens too and they'd also ignored spark.
Maybe it's too small for them to see?

Thanks, yeah I was really surprised, havent had an issue with focus at all yet, not many options to choose from but it seems to work pretty good out of the box!

Ooh we have some chickens here but not enough room ... well ... I might give it a go sometime ;)
I was thinking perhaps they see it as a big insect lol ? birds have GREAT eyesight so im sure they see it no problems, Ive found crows are the hardest to get close to out of the birds ive come across.
First thing I thought id do before I got the Spark was to put some big eye stickers on the top, bloody eagle will probably carry it away for its youngans to eat if they got a hold of it ! Still on the to-do list tho...

It’s a nice video, but as a rule if the prop wash is ruffling feathers you’re flying too close.

Thanks, Totally agree, but this particular bird was playing my bluff, had to give it a go and see how close he would let me get, in the end he won.

99% of the time once you get inside their "bubble" they will seem agitated and fly off very quick so its easy to tell where the safe distance is - once its too late
