My second post in one day. The controller kept reminding me I need to upgrade. No problem I'll be happy to upgrade. But it also says I need to complete my registration.
I tried to upgrade yesterday but the process froze. I had followed the DJI tutorial. I turned off the controller and drone. Decided to try later. Today the screen says I need to "Link" with a phone number to complete my registration, enter my mainland China phone number. Sorry, do have one as I'm a citizen of the US of A.
I did not enter a phone number during the initial registration since it asked for either an email or phone number. I choose email address.

Ok, what's my next move other than sending back the Phantom 4 Pro +?

All seemed to be in order for the past week with the entire system until I tried to upgrade from V01.02.02.00 to the next V4.1.15. I stopped the process because it continued to freeze. Now I'm locked out.

How can I download Assitant 2 app directly to my computer? I think the process would move faster than through the Android device.  I would like to first try out the drone before upgrading. I read there are issues with upside down images with the following upgrades.
My confidence color is in amber mode. Please if possible, point me in the right direction.

Thanks for your help. The bummer is, I work on a Mac system. Mac will not open the Assitant 2 app.
This whole process should have been simpler. I'm no newbie with regards to computers and software. If I could at least get rid of the request to provide my mainland China phone number as part of finishing my registration. I thought I was registered. I'll stick with the current firmware for the time being if I can just retrieve communications as they were a few days ago. Thanks for your attention, it does not go unappreciated.

Why are there differences between firmware or app with Android and iOS?

Similarly, why do Mac and Windows desktop users have opposing systems where the DJI programs are concerned?


You would think there would be far less noticeable things that don't match.

Hi  Brent i had exactly the same thing happen to my p+  it turned out to be a result of me switching on in a garage full of metal [cars ] which messed with the compass and gps and it could'nt  identify my location and  went to default China  . i moved both rc and bird outside and rebooted .....problem solved hope this works for you ,let me know how you get on

Thanks for sharing your experience. I know I have support steel I beams in our home so this might be the issue. I'll check the compass on both the RC and Drone. Thanks for your support.
