I wanted to skin my mavic for visibility/protection, I found a skin for less than 7 USD, this is how it looks:



I hope it does not start to peel off with the heat of the drone.

The skin adds 7 grams (new weight of my mavic is 741 grams). I guess if the duration of the battery and the payload is a lineal relation, that means I lost about 13 seconds of flight time.

I think it's a shame. If I had to do something on my own Mavic, it should be as below.

Looks good, been thinking of doing something like this just not sure yet. I have four batteries and the ones I’ve seen only comes with two skins.

That cheap skin comes with enough for 3 batteries and the controller. For the price, the quality is great, feels very protective and fitted perfectly.

Skin's really do totally change the look of the Mavic

I'm happy with my iCarbons skin (same color as yours, but at a far higher price point ).  No issues to speak of, and does help with visibility.

I see that the design is different in iCarbons. Does it ever peel off a little or bubble up due the heat near the heatsink? Can you post a pic?

I havent flown mine yet but I used a hair drier in some spots to stuck it properly

No real issues with the skin...molding the contour of the batteries is a problem but they're okay and using a hair dryer on those areas would be a good idea.  I'd say the the sharp corners at the end of a couple areas are start to show signs of eventually being a problem.  Other than that, I've not had any of the areas just start peeling off, and they've been on over eight months with lots of flying.

   

i like it - would have been my color choice too - sadly though my local merchant mostly has various camo patterns - quite the opposite effect i would wish to achieve with my skins. Ended up doing a home made job with reflective tape on red stickers - not pretty but we are ok with it - and i wrote my telephone number in black koki on the arms too.

That really looks good.

It is a bit annoying due the amount of parts, but not more annoying than applying any other skin. In fact I was surprised how well parts aligned (like the holes of the battery and the button)

There is so much extra material on those expensive skins, I did not like how my cheap one added layers to the moving parts of the folding arms so I removed material from there.

Do not know if you can do the same with a expensive one without feeling guilty or messing the design

Can I ask what's the visibility like?

I'm interesting in getting a bright skin as I look track of where the drone is lol?

nice job - are skins hard to apply, just need a steady hand and some patience?

Haven't tried it yet! haha, where I live the sun just come back this last week since december

Yeah, and this cheap one is quite forgiving, like I left few bubbles and wrinkles and then removed them with a hot hair dryer

I'll have to check one out - I've been interested in getting one, if it's anything like applying the protective films over phone screens - I'll fail haha!
