Excerpted from https://stateparks.utah.gov/parks/dead-horse/drone-regulations/
Between November and February of each year, drone use is permitted by permit only.  Permits cost $10 and can be filled out at the visitor center (open daily 9am-5pm) before flying.
Dead Horse Point is not National Park but State Park and they are flexible for drone flyers.  (BTW, Opening Scene of movie "Mission Impossible 2" was shot there).
It was 23F(-3 celsius) but no wind and good day for flying my Mavic Pro!

Great video. Nice gimbal-handling. Loved the Gershwin. Not something you'd typically think of for soundtrack, but perfect for this video. Southern UT is an amazing and endlessly interesting place (I live in SLC).
Good on you for getting down there in the Winter.

Love it. I was there in October and was / still am gutted I missed out on being to fly there by 2 weeks.  There are still some great places to fly outside of the parks as well, but flying over Dead Horse Point was one I really wanted to do!

Thank you for compliments.  Indeed, UT is beautiful place and I'm sure I'll visit again.
As to music "Rhapsody in Blue", I am probably influenced by UAL's TV ads in Japan.

Hi JelloMaster.
Sorry to hear that you missed the opportunity to fly your drone there.
When I shot part 1 clip in November, it was very strong wind every 10 seconds and I was waiting for wind speed less than 24 mph (10 meters/s).  Because it is a kind of hard place to retrieve lost drones.
Just before sunset, there was only 40min.-window to fly Mavic.  only 2 out of 7 batteries were used and I was not satisfied with my video clips.

Part2 clip in January was my 2nd attempt.  There was no wind (0mph) and it was perfect day to fly my Mavic.

Too Right! Loved the Dvorak on the first one, too.

Thank you so much.
When I listened to Dvorak's New World in elementary school for the first time, I pictured "Grand Canyon" types of scene.

Thanks for sharing the regulations and the great footage!  I wonder if at some point the Federal parks will have just a blanket permit fee, which will then allow you to fly at times specified by the individual parks.

Papa Ski, You're welcome and I feel the same way.
Not all but other State Parks in Utah allow permissions for drone flyers in the off season.
