Was down at my companies plant shooting some video with my MAVIC PRO last week and came across a problem ? Now I had flow there a month ago with great results (and for you safety-conscious folks . . yessss I did and do take all safety precautions when I fly !!) . . )

The problem I was having this time was my ability to climb higher than say 20-30 feet . . then I would get a message about something to do with no GPS (which I knew) and flying in ATT MODE . . and I could not find a way of over riding this . . ???  My first round of videos I had the ability to go all the way to the ceiling (a good ways up).

Any ideas as to what was causing this ???   I have searched on YouTube for answers and found none . I fly with propguards and in Tripod mode and have done signal tests in different parts of the building to make sure I would get no signal problems.  The Mavic flew like a champ !!!!  It was soooo steady and rock solid in its hover !!!   I did make one mistake . . I shot the video clips in 4K . . oppps . . dang files were HUGHE !!!   lolol

That's the normal behavior; when there's no GPS lock the Mavic's height is limited. If I recall correctly, there's one height limit for when VPS is active and a larger value for when VPS is inactive, the latter of which I believe is roughly 100 feet (30 meters). If your height was more limited this time then I'd guess it was because VPS was active, but you can disable VPS through the Go app, which will probably provide the extra height you need.

Hi there, please refer to the manual, when the drone is flying in no GPS environment, the height will be limited. So this is the reason your drone is limited. You can disable the downward system to reach a higher altitude, but please pay attention to the control if you disable it.
