Definitely a new version of a Mavic imo.

Interesting things from the Video, they have emphasised the wind, rain and water.  This wind/storm could mean it's faster and designed to be able to fly in more adverse conditions. The water/rain could mean that there is some weatherproofing.  They actually showed footage below the water, I doubt that means much but maybe it could have some sort of floatation should the worst happen...

Yeah, I on the other hand don't think DJI cares about racing drones.  So I'm gonna go with the popular theory that this is a smaller foldable Mavic that slots between the current and the Spark.  Details left to be seen.  I do hope for an interesting camera option.  I also speculate that this is a STFU to Autel.

Racing drones is a VERY small niche, no big money down that road.
Something tells me that the Spark wasnt their biggest hit either, mostly due to the camera, and that it was almost as big as a Mavic unfolded.
The only existing model that really need a facelift, is the Phantom, it hasnt changed since vers 1, also the props still keeps showing up in the frame, so thats the model that in most need of an upgrade, as it has the best camera of the consumer models.
On Instagram Dji says, Join us for the next "big" thing.
Its either a foldable Phantom, or a Mavic with P4P camera, it cannot be less...
Even if Dji currently have no competitors, they need to keep the sale going by releasing new products, or people will just keep what they already have...

I anticipate that we all will be able to see the presentation live via webcast when we go on that link at the given time. Now as I have published this, I can only hope that the server will be strong enough to meet the demand... .

Shut the @$%! up.  Regarding a response to the upcoming Autel EVO... as in that's the best you can do.  Well check this out.  Similar to what the Mavic did to the Karma's coming out party.

A "bear avoidance system"? I hope it's upwards facing then, because we have vicious Drop Bears here in Australia...

Yeah, a viscious drop-bear-proof drone would definitely be awesome .... however if it is a new variant on the Mavic Pro I will spew, as I've only had the Mavic since Christmas and way too early for me to be lusting after an upgrade!

Hey, I agree that it sounds like a Mavic able to manage the elements. But DJI Do care about racing drones. Heard of their Snail and Takyon series of components? But then, sure, they're just components...
