Saying that - in the name and chase of more portable drones - it could be a Spark Pro.

Hmm DJI on Twitter is having a contest about zooming in on a picture. A hint perhaps on the Mavic Air having optical zoom? Maybe even dual lens like we’re seeing with smartphones?

This is an over hyped teaser video if I have ever seen one. New drone, high probability, specs that much higher than current, not likely, general annual update to keep sales normalized, highly likely. Will I want it, yeah for sure, lol.

I'd love to have a submarine drone!  That would be awesome!  Too bad the rivers and lakes around here have a max of 2" of visibility!

Am i the only one who wants a better camera?
Be honest, even the P4P camera delivers no better pictures than my smartphone, and its marginally better than the previous models, which means, that basically there hasnt been any development on that part.
Remind me again, the reason most of you fly, for fun, or to shoot film and photo?

If it wasn't that my P4P has been nothing but trouble i might would buy one should it come, but so far i think i have spend enough money on DJI products and lack of good service.

They been around for 25 years at least - they are called ROV's (Remotely Operated Vehicles) and I've been doing it as a job for the last 10, with oil and gas industry, worldwide.  Surveying oil platform structures subsea, or surveying pipelines between the oil fields and close to in-shore.

Difference is there is no wireless way of controlling the ROV, or sending data back to the surface - so we have to fly the ROV's via a mainlift, TMS and soft tether - filled with conductors and fibre optics.

It will be a new Spark with a reel that contains 500 meters of fishing line. When you get to the end of the line and the drone wants to fly away, you'll have only to reel it in. This feature will be named "nofly away"

Agreed. 100%  Like drones - only those who have been trained and have the right law abiding attitude should have them - but that would hurt the arms manufactureres and DJI's pockets.

I feel sorry for those who are afraid of inanimate objects. Must be a tough phobia, considering there are many inanmate objects surrounding all of us daily.

It's better to make the 'pro' more available by making a cheaper version than to make a more expensive version of a not-as-great (in comparison) drone from a marketing point of view ;)

I think it's the new Mavic Air if you click on this link it suspiciously brings you to the announcement page https://www.dji.com/mobile/mavic-air   My guess it's black with a better gimbal and senors and more streamlined with new battery so faster and longer flight time. I think FPV is going to be important in the new Mavic and Spark so I think both will be faster and smaller with the Spark having foldable arms and a 4K camera. Spark and Mavic hybrid? As for new Phantom a 360 degree revolving camera. Just my guesses

My vote would be for a submarine drone. Here in SoCal that would be awesome but wireless in saltwater?? How's that going to work out?

Folding, 4k, racing drone with 5 mile range and 30 minutes per battery. I can dream can't I?

For peeping through windows? I can already envisage that would very quickly change the already OTT drone regulations if that capability was readily available on consumer drones... No flying within 200m of property for privacy rights.

It would be a great feature for legitimate use, but Could have all sorts of consequences!

Yes I know some drones already have this, but either with low res cameras or they are not generally or popularly available.  DJI would change all that as they’re so popular.
