Another awesome 500 km flown - been raking up some mileage with a friend lately which has added a new fun dimension to my world.
Same mavic pro - except for unfortunate persistent image issue everything else about the drone seems to be just fine.
Same props
2 original batteries
2 new batteries
Gimbal cover finally broke its clips a while ago - otherwise no damages or stresses apparent or issues to report.
Flying my one year old mavic pro next to a friends brand new mavic pro - all performances of the year old craft is perfectly matched to the new one in terms of flying speed and performance.
Vps and distance readings are the same - no variations noticed.
appologies - same image posted twice below and i do not know how to delete one

I’m truly impressed!! Both in the Mavic Pro and you.
Just be careful and don’t get drone thumb version of tennis elbow. ;)

Do you not recommend using the Live Stream capability with the Mavic Pro because you recommend putting your device into its Airplane Mode?

I meant to ask (had to runout and catch a sunset  , of the original battery, how many cycles now ? Also, do you pull them down low most flights. - No need to ask if they sit around discharged as I can imagine they only rest when you do !

Thanks and best

I 'd say my older 2 batteries have probably been recharged more than 100 (maybe about 130 times each) i will check today when i fly and get back to you.
I do tend to empty the batteries a bit on the low side before landing.
I seldom land with 30%  - usually around 20 - 25% and sometimes lower than that - but seldom drop them below 10% before landing. This is probably not the best for good battery care but it s what i do.
Until recently i pretty much only flew in sport and ususally at full stick - also not good for long term battery health.
I am getting about 5-6km on the old batteries  and about 8-9km on new batteries (sport mode)

I think you have done got your Money's worth.

"3. Switch phone to Airplane mode - disable wifi (whilst flying) disable mobile data and enable Do Not Disturb."

That is not only great advice while flying, but also good advice for when one is not flying.

That's still not too bad given that they are more than 17 months old.

My current monitor is a Sony z3 - it has good days and bad days (image pixilation related which seems to have something to do with brightness - thats another story)
When it is working properly - it is pretty good, like actually really good. Currently going through a good phase where it works great for more than a week now, with occasional minor errors)
other times weeks pass and i have serious problems every flight.
If glitch free is the ideal - then my device is not the best.

I bought the goggles to get around my image problem on my device - which worked - i really like flying with goggles. I like to chase cars and motor boats and drones so the goggles help hugely in being able to stay on my target without sun light problems on the screen - plus you see so much more detial in the goggles (for example: flying around a small town at about 50m up, looking for my brother without goggles - not possible - with goggles - easy)
I am trying to hold out for the new dji supported devise list - the ones that are currently on pretty much all have one issue or another for me - so i hope the next list includes a devise that i can upgrade to.

do you fly in sport mode a lot or not so much. Flying in sport is definately more stress on the battery. Dji mention 200 charges but i think they mean that in terms of 'recommended use" which will not include lots of sports mode. - just a thought

yeh but i think that refers to if the battery is used as recommended which i am sure excludes using sport mode very much or maybe even at all.

Ok, thank you , I’m rotating 7 battery’s so that helps with cycle rates. 30 something on oldest and15ish on new.
Goggles sound interesting. Humm.

just checked my batteries
Battery 1, recharged 161 times
Battery 2, recharge 169 times

Not bad actually considering they have worked most of their life in sport mode

Use em like u stole it.. i like that:-)

pat of what i hoped for in my first drone is "performance" - mavic gives me that - feels a shame not to take full advantage of it.
I enjoy the thrill of chasing cars and boats etc more than i get a thrill from the camera side
