I got a brand new Mavic Pro two weaks ago. I flew several hours without any issue.
But yesterday, something strange happend. I started as usually.. DJI GO 4 gave green status bar, ready to go.
Enough GPS satellites, no compass error, no interference. I started by the DJI GO 4 with precision landing enabled.

Everything fine, but when it reaches around 2 meters, the mavic flew it own way. It was going sideways and downwards. I tried to correct the movements, but the Mavic won't react on my comments. After a quick look at the DJI GO 4 app I saw an error message. But because I was near water, I was trying to do anything so I won't flew into the water.
Finally it crashes into the trees.

After analyzing the DJI GO 4 logs, I see lots of compass errors. But have no clue why this happens.
I saw on several forums I need to replace my Mavic.
Now I don't trust the Mavic anymore. Hope DJI will replace the Mavic soon and get my trust back :-).

PS. attached the logs from DJI GO 4 APP (ios), I was unable to find logs in the Mavic/RC by DJI Assistent.

My thought would be metal objects very near your take-off point

Did you take off from concrete with rebar or any other ferrous metals around?

It is your take off point which you should not thrust. This is likely some iron close to the Mavic .
To prevent this to happen you should open the IMU and compass page in Go4 app.

Thanks!
I always check compass/IMU before take off, all states were Excellent.

I took off one more time that day, from an other spot, and I got an error something like 'switched to backup compass'. But after I reboot the AC, I saw the first compass is used.

Yeah, I took of from concrete, so I think you're right there is rebar inside the concrete.

Today I will try to fly again and see what happens and hopefully everything is still working correctly.
What can I do to prevent this happen next time?

Or what to do / how to react if this happens again? In example, is it better to try to go as high as possible (so there will be less interference) till is reacting normally? Will the compass/AC working properly again/correct itself in the air?

Thanks to everyone!

Stay away from metal from the start, wait for GPS to sink, then go ahead and fly. If there are problems, it should happen right away. So for the next handful of flights, maybe take off in a more open area than normal, and be careful. I think you are fine now that you know about taking off from metal surfaces. Good luck

If you see a recurring compass error, you should probably land immediately, i.e. don't even attempt RTH.  just hover and descend.  If the error is bad enough,  the flight control system will eventually give up and cause erratic flight.

Thank  you for your reply. I did send an e-mail (other support options > e-mail). But have had no reaction yet.
Or do I need to create a case on a different way?

Thanks again!
