Found time inbetween the rain to shoot some of these abandoned sound mirrors in dungeness. Its a very strange place right near the nuclear power plant and Lydd airport. Any advise is welcome

Nice work and interesting subject. Be sure to steer well clear of the airport and power plant. A guy was arrested and convicted in the UK in 2015 for flying near a nuclear power station and fined £4,300...

Must have been fun times back in the 1940's around the UK. Thank you for showing us the latest technology from that era.

Great video of a really cool subject matter.  I had never heard of "sound mirrors", so had to Google it:
A forerunner of radar, acoustic mirrors were built on the south and northeast coasts of England between about 1916 and the 1930s. The ‘listening ears’ were intended to provide early warning of incoming enemy aeroplanes and airships about to attack coastal towns. With the development of faster aircraft the sound mirrors became less useful, as an aircraft would be within sight by the time it had been located, and radar finally rendered the mirrors obsolete.

Interesting question. I have polar pros and was using nd8 to start with. Then it got really cloudy and dark and i took it off nearer the end of the video. Can you notice the difference?

i was just wondering in general - i am new to nd filters - have only worked out what light suits nd 16 best. now i am curious to know other peoples specs to try and get an idea of what light conditions the 8/4/cpl are good for.

Well like i said i had to take the filters off as it was getting rainy and cloudy like it always does here in the uk.
All you need to do is set the shutter speed and then hold the filters upto the camera to see what one you need. Also have the histogram up and the over exposure warning on
