I was told today by a friend that with the newer firmware upgrade that the Phantom 3 Standard will have the follow me feature. Is this true? Or was he misinformed?

Hey Jake, Follow Me is a feature of Phantom series. Here is the tutorial video, just have a try.

Thanks for the info. It was just what I was looking for.

On thing is very important,the GPS coordinates from the mobile device must be accurate to your real position or the Phantom will follow the point far away from the real point.

the follow me mode never works like the dji tutorial

Works good, but not having obstacle avoidance, you must watch your bird, not the screen on your mobile device.
