I poked at the "sign" and I fell out a message "sorry, in your country this is not available ..."

It's pretty cool indeed. The Mavic Air seems like a nice drone, and, yes, I'd like to try it out, and also make a physical comparison to the Mavic Pro. DJI is sparking it up with new technology and designs that I love.

Actually, I'm confused - I have to sign up in the first 1000 to get a priority code when I BUY the drone? But if I'm picked I will get one to test and put through DJIs exercises and may be able to keep it - but  I will have just bought one - am now a little confused.

I believe you get the code and then apply it when you buy the drone. When you have completed the testing that DJI outlines, you return the drone and get your money back (please don't think this is perfectly right, this is how I interpreted the information)
