It rains a LOT where i live. If it was waterproof id have bought without any hesitation. However, as I already own the mavic and a spark the cost does not justify me buying a mavic air.

NO ... nice little drone but not a Mavic 2 or even an upgrade on the Mavic/Pro Plat. More a warmed over Spark.
Seems to me DJI have been making a lot of Hot (mavic/Spark) Air over this rather uninspiring drone, certianly not what a lot of people on here were expecting which is a real shame but I guess the Mavic Pro and Pro Plat have a bit of mileage left in them yet.

No. I don’t have any interest in the new spark Pro. This is a total downgrade.

Spark Air or Spark Pro would have fit better, as it resembles the Spark and not the Mavic. Will pass and keep my Mavic Pro

Agree with the comments above. It would seem more a Spark upgrade than a Mavic Pro one. Glad I have my Mavic. In fairness it is a good looking machine and a lot of new buyers are going to love it.

But 100 mb/s looks really good

This seems like a great new addition but when he said “WiFi transmission” it was sadly a no for me. I think this is more of a Spark 2 myself.

It's what the Spark should have been. Not a Mavic.  But still an interesting device.  But for about the same price, I'd still prefer the Mavic

I am so disappointed right now. Was really expecting an upgraded Mavic Pro. Instead we get this basically upgraded Spark. Been waiting for more than 1 year to get upgraded Mavic Pro with hopefully a camera as powerful as Phantom 4 pro and maybe an integrated screen with controller so that we don't have to be using phones or tablets. Guess will now have to wait another year.

It is an upgrade for the Spark and a downgrade for the Mavic.  I hope this is a joke!

No way I will be "upgrading". To me Mavic Pro is an upgrade from the Air. I don't see this drone as successor to Mavic Pro, it's simply just an upgraded Spark. I feel so disappointed. And it's not like I don't have money - I do, it's just I don't see the reason why should I buy it.
And for a new person who is about to buy the first drone - if you look for portable drone, you have 2 options:
a) if you want better image quality: go with Mavic Pro
b) if you want even smaller form factor and lower price: go with Spark

Mavic Air doesn't fill any gap here, I can say already their sales won't be going crazy on this one.

With worse aperture lens : f2.8 for Mavic Air Vs f2.2 for Mavic Pro

Yes, i will totaly upgrade.

No MA for me. Definitely a Spark upgrade, MP downgrade. The WiFi part kills me. Really can't imagine why they did not use Occusync like on the MP. I do like the "semi-protected" gimbal and 100MB, but they say nothing about 4K-60fps. Maybe the MP and MPP will get the Asteroid and Boomerang options in a future update...

I don't see people not dealing with it ...  I think we are all dealing with it however, it still represents a let down in many people eyes as there was a lot of hype and speculation that this would be an upgraded Mavic (which it isn't) and hence this in many peoples eyes is a let down but we are dealing with it, so please don't concern yourself that we are not!!
I see the comments more as observations rather than complaints.

Since DJI is using Apple terms, I'll use them as an example. A macbook pro is one thing, a macbook air isn't considered an 'upgrade' to the pro, it's considered a lighter version for people who find that important.
In fact, the air is kind of a downgrade from the pro as it has to sacrifice some specs to get a smaller, lighter package.  This seems to be the same logic behind the Mavic air verses the Mavic pro. It's not meant to be an upgrade, it's meant to be for people who want something similar to the pro...... just lighter, smaller and easier to carry.

It's not for me, but it may be for some.   I don't have the Mavic pro, I ordered one then canceled it before it shipped (it just took too long for it to ship). I opted for the Phantom 4 pro and I'm not disappointed at all.
I have no 'need' for another drone. Drones are very similar to computers.... how many do you 'need'?

I already have 3 and can't think of a place where this one would 'fit'.

What they did is exactly what I knew they would do. No way this will compete with the MP.  It’s just another spark with a few more features.

I am the only one who thinks this is god news? This means i dont have to use lots of money to have the best drone, because i already have it, the mavic pro.

I also think this a great upgrade to the Spark, not the Mavic. I ordered one, will be giving my Spark to my grandson.

Upgrade my butt!  Maybe for the Spark, but not for the MP.

I think this is a polarizing offering.  The price point is what throws me off.  If it were $599 for the basic and $799 for the fly more I may have bitten.  I was already burned by the initial price on the Spark once.  This time I'll take a wait and see program.

1) They're gonna sell a zillion of these things: one of the best products i've ever seen. It's not for me as what i want is an upgraded Mavic 2, but it's for the rest of the million users who have never flown a drone. Mavic was my first drone as it was the first drone which i could actually carry with me without feeling an idiot. This thing is even more portable, it's less expensive, and it does exactly what millions of average Joes want from a drone: cool memories. This will get into drones many more people than the Mavic did, because it simply does better than the Mavic two major entry barriers: portability and price point. You have to understand that the average Joe does not care a dime of res, specs, and tech stuff. They just want a cool video to post on Facebook. And this thing exceptionally delivers.

2) DJI needs to do two things for the mass market: A) Upgraded Mavic (coming by fall with improved camera and sensors), and B) Sports drone, wind resistant, with tracker, etc.

All in all, my 2 cents is this will be a mega hit (i won't buy it, but i know like 10 people who "wanted" the Mavic when they saw it but it still was a little bit too complex, a little bit too expensive....).

One of the big let downs for me is that it does not use Ocusync. Just an enhanced wifi. As all the reviews I have seen so far have been from US droners, I am would be about the range. I mean here in the UK I have retired my Spark until they implement officially OTG support due to the severe lack of range. My Mavic Pro is amazing and to be honest I don't see me buying an Air. I just can't justify buying one. Let's be honest here. If you already have a Mavic Pro/Pro Platinum, you will not be going out and buying an Air as I would class it as a downgrade.

not many people are impressed.  DJI is hurting themselves with all the options. A Mavic Pro 2 should have been released. From the looks of it the Mavic Air has not sold out yet. Usually that happens within a hour of a DJI release, yet its still available for order at the time of post
