So I did the update and connected otg cable and do not seem to have weak image signal warning anymore. Seems to me they finally fixed the problem. Will test out in a little bit and update.

4.2.4 on iOS just released it today. 1/23/2017

Super excited if it works. Been waiting since 4.1.15.

No more weak transmission errors.
Will test it outside tomorrow if the weather is okay.

Just tested ... it is working great ( IOS )

So, Never Update the app again.

Tested, it seems to be working, all telemetry including battery info was displayed. Any official word from the Admins?

Great news - hope it will come to android as well - have been using my wife’s old iPhone prefer to go back to my xiaomi phone - tried android on latest 4.1.22 what a hot mess with disconnects from controller to the phone on WiFi -iOS even on WiFi is a lot more stable than android will be going out later today will give the iOS a try with otg

What’s the official line? Will using otg invalidate the warrenty?

This sounds encouraging. I wonder if the new photo modes (Boomerang and Asteroid) will work for the Spark also with this update.

Does DJI ever release detailed patch notes? The update talked a lot about Mavic Air, but at the bottom it just said “other fixes”

No.  These mod are not available on the Spark after this update ... ( maybe later ? who knows? )

You need an OTG adapter. Start the app, power on the remote, attach your lightning cable with adapter to your phone, then lastly plug the Cable into the remote. It seems to work best if you attach the remote last.
But I’m still not sure if DJI supports this mode officially, haven’t seen a response yet.

Forgot to add turn off the WiFi on your phone. Otherwise you won’t know if it’s working properly.

Android app 4.2.4 is out now!

Any update on OTG for Android on spark ? Just saw that the new Mavic Air is sold with OTG cable and works with wifi.

Still not showing on the store. US Central time. 12:50 1/23/2018.

Just downloaded the new app, OTG is working, but I noticed the remote controller version is still blank. Think I will carry on wifi until they give an official statement

So I have tested the org setup and it works flawlessly. Only problem I had was my iPad died mid flight and I freaked out but it was in line of sight and flew back safely. I went out around 600 feet around 130 feet high. Never lost connection and I started out in heavily wooded area. Which Ik is not a good idea. I took a pick of my iPad mid flight to show no warning signs.

Theres lag in the video feed on wifi.

In my experience it was perfectly fine and on 5.8ghz

I haven't tried this one yet, but after quite a bit of "research" this is the one I landed on to be used with my iPhone X. However, any Micro USB to Lightning cable should work just fine as long as it's the appropriate length - you'll probably want 6 inches or more.

I got the 8.14 inch "for iPad" since this will be used with a Spark controller, not a Mavic.

Yep, I also tried to delete everything and install the app again...it didn't work. It seems this update only added Mavic Air to the list...

confirmed on iphone that telemetry is there, cant test quickshot modes as I am indoors ( no GPS)

Looking forward to the Admin's explanation of why IOS is fixed but not Android.

Amateur hour on App releases...if they'd fixed OTG, I would likely buy a Mavic Pro as trust would be repaired...seems not.

Yes I agree with you there. Releasing a new drone when they havn't got the last one working at 100% yet is a bit annoying..

Hi there, the feature of OTG is optimized, but still not officially supported at this moment. We'll release on our website if there is any official update.
