Just upgraded the GO 4 app to 4.2.4 to see if OTG telemitry data and Offline Map have been fixed. Bad news, NO change in status. It's back to 4.1.15 for me.

From what I have read on the forum today and what other users have experienced, OTG is working on iOS now with the DJI GO 4 update 4.2.4, but unfortunately it does not sound like it is working on Android.

Just being curious, DJI, do you really think that the majority of the spark User is 'Apple'?

4.2.4 hasn’t dropped here yet on the google play store for android -  I am in the US using a xiaomi 5 - but since the otg fiasco have been using my wife’s old Apple 6s can confirm 4.2.4 otg is working again on iOS  - Dji app is a lot more stable on Apple

i think so. dji go for me always worked better on iOS vs. android. at least since i started the drone hobby since phantom 3

My personal opinion is that almost every app is "better" on iOS.
But I do not know if this is related to android itself or the way the apps get coded.

That is very personal, and only has to do with how well DJI's coders are educated/managed/payed.

Eh, not necessarily the case. If apple does one thing well it is documenting and maintaining their SDKs and APIs. Not as well as they did in the older days of iOS but certainly far better than the fragmented world of android. One other issue is that Android can be modified by smart phone manufactures, so a Samsung device may respond slightly different to the same SDK call, than a Pixel device. (Samsung doesn't know when to leave well enough alone)

Android versions can be modded, IOS hard to mod.
If you want a super spark, use 4.1.15 mod(android), with FCC,OTG and mavic flight(waypoints etc) modes.

Can confirm .. using 4.2.4 since last night on IOS 11.2.2 and otg cable is working fine now.

yeah I send you PMDelete org version and DJI folder. Set phone in airplane and instal your 4.1.15 app. Sign in, your acount or fake name A, password B.
Then enter device, to see camera view. ,closed app. Now set phone out of airplane mode and you are set to go.

Yes.  The "Weak transmission signal" warning is gone with OTG and IOS version 4.2.4.

I'm genuinely curious as to why the OTG cable isn't officially recommended. From what I've read and seen for myself it's a huge improvement in terms of control and lag.

I've just recently purchased my Spark and after downgrading to 4.1.15 it's night and day! Without the OTG I was getting a stuttered image at 70 meters in an open field while now it's closer to 500!

It's as if you built a laptop with no propriety mouse support, forcing users to use the touch-pad. When users figured out they can use a mouse you're adamant that it's not recommended even though for all intensive purposes it's better.Is there anything I'm missing here?

Genuinely want to know.

I would like to know why OTG is not recommended on spark when its out of the box for the new mavic air and older models?

The thing is...
OTG + 4.1.15 makes my Spark works beautifully, with no Lags, no Disconnects...
I will use this version FOR EVER if DJI does not "fix" the Android App. (by now, we all know they scrambled the telemetry data on purpose to force us to use WiFi.)
But WiFi connection is s***ty compared to OTG reliability...

This OTG is real on Android and very annoying.  I had my spark all linked though the remote and phone via wifi, as a test I wanted to see what would happen if I plugged my OTG cable in, and what You know, I lose my satellites, and all the info that goes with it? Does anyone know (DJI THOR) on a update for the OTG SPARK .?

I usually fly using wifi but, after updating to IOS 11.2.5 and DJI Go app 4.2.5, I startef getting all sorts of warnings (like bluetooth and wifi jearby) and frequently losing connections even at short range.

I shifted to OTG and the Spark performs perfectly using these versions.

If OTG is disabled again, what will happen to my Spark?

I work with 4.1.15 fcc version. Yesterday i've tried 4.2.4 standard version on android and works fine. Then I came back to 4.1.15 fcc on android but the app crash when i use the radio. direclty connected to spark wors fine but with radio the app crash. Before using the original 4.2.4 works fine. Is it normal?

you cannot have both on your android unless you use app cloner (different folder) Uninstall  both versions, delete dji folders and install your 4.2.4 version
