I started using an OTG cable recently.  The video image comes through , but no info. No battery , speed,  distance or number of GPS. The phone thinks there's no GPS so no RTH e.t.c. If I disconnect the cable and switch to WIFI all the info comes through ok. Any ideas???

Its known issue with current versions of Dji Go. Last good one working with OTG is 4.1.15.

Is there a way to downgrade back to that version?

Yes. Easier with Android and a bit more complicated with iOS. Google is your friend.

Yes it was ! Cheers It worked great. I will have to look out for a new version that it will work on. Is the problem different on various android devices or for everything?

The problem exists for ALL Android devices

But the latest version if DJI Go for IOS works properly. ( so if you have a iDevice ... )

I just tested the DJI Go 4 App 4.2.4 with my Honor 5x connected via OTG to the spark remote with current LineageOS 14.1 build and telemetry does not work (N/A everywhere). Still needs to be fixed.

Just tested 4.2.4 in my Moto Z2 Play with OTG

No Telemetry
Not even Battery Info

(Can't test everything right now but, probably) No QuickShot functions working properly (Only Dronie at 40m)

Going back to 4.1.15 ... AGAIN !!!

Mick, please use wifi connection instead. I would not recommend you use OTG cable as it may cause display problem. We will inform users if it is supported. Thanks for your attention.

Elektra, if this forum has many sticky topics on top that nobody is really interested in any more, shouldn't this OTG compatibility issue be advertised there rather, which seems the most important of all?

As you know Elektra, WiFi is not as reliable as OTG.

IT WOULD BE A DREAM if WiFi worked so smoothly as OTG Works.

WiFi is generating Lag, HUGE delays, disconnects.
I am sorry to post this video again, but it is the easiest way to explain to all why we preffer using OTG and not WiFi:

"If it is supported"?

That doesn't sound hopeful.

It's really a shame that the problem was fixed on IOS without it being on Android.
I will never buy the Mavic Air until this problem is fixed for the Spark.
I would be too afraid that they degrade a feature of the Mavic Air in the future to better sell their next drone.

This looks like Apple's practices on clamping their old models...

Very disappointed

I use Huawei P9 Plus, with minimum app installed。Before flying, turn into Aeroplane Mode, close Bluetooth, NFC。Do a phone cleanup, close all apks running in the background。Put the Spark at more than 20 meters distance away and start pairing with RC。I never experience SIGNAL lost using wifi connection to the RC。Hope these info helps。I am running latest firmware and 4'2'4

One last point, pair the Android with the RC at about 5 meters away distance。

At home, I simulated the situation of Video Signal lagging and lost connection。I found that, when the RC and Spark was auto changing channels to avoid interference, e.g. switching between 2.4G and 5.8G, the video transmission was either lagged or cycled between lost connection /reconnects。I experimented using a Custom Fixed channel in DJI GO 4, to disable  auto channel selection。Video transmission was very smooth。To do this, I used WIFI ANALYSER to check beforehand the safe channels to use。

Another experiment I have done is to connect the Android with Spark via a 2.4G repeater/extender, without using the RC。Eventhough the Spark/Repeater, auto change channels due to interference, the video transmission is smooth。In this experiment, I paired the repeater/Spark, more than 20 meters apart。

My conclusion after these experiments is, when Spark/RC is auto changing channels between 2.4G and 5.8G, or even changing channels within 2.4G or 5.8G, the video transmission quality will be degraded or disconnected。DJI specialists should double check on this。May be this is a bug in the system

If users are using Andiods with less capable CPUs and or loaded with apps running in the background, it may make the situation even worse when RC/Sparking is auto changing wifi channels and or frequencies。

If my finding is true, i.e. interference/auto channel switching, is causing the video lagging/disconnect problem, it is unsafe to fly Spark. DJI may consider to ground ALL Spark flying, due to safety reasons, untiil a solution is found.
