Just need to share this. OK, so I wanted to try something. Ya know when you first open the DJI Go 4 app, and you see those three little lines in the upper right corner, and if you hold on those three lines for like 10 seconds, you get a screen where you can upgrade or downgrade the bird or the RC. So, I do a refresh on the RC, and all went well. Now I do the same thing the the P4, and this time, it doesn't get stuck on 84% and downloads right to 100%!!! Yippy!.....right? Nope. Now when I go to the screen in the Go4 app where you can upgrade/downgrade, I see this, PRODUCT: UNKNOWN    CURRENT VERSION: UNKNOWN   
With the P4 and RC on, lower left corner in the app tells me "RC connected. Red light on the RC, red light on the P4 by the SD slot, and in the app says "Aircraft Disconnected".
OH yeah, and now the RC beeps at approx. 60-70% power, and after about 1 minute of this, it shuts down.  I'm done.

Sir, please try to press the C1 button, C2 button, video recording button and camera settings dial at the same time, then restart the remote controller and conduct upgrade again. Or press the C1, C2 and shutter buttons at the same time to reset the remote controller.
If the indicator of the RC is red, please try to link the RC with AC again. Please keep us updated, thanks.

My issue is that since an attempt to upgrade, the P4 (not the RC) is not  recognized in the app (see original post). RC has the most recent upgrade. To me, the best way to  describe it is that the P4 has no firmware at all installed. Linking doesnt work either.

The AC and RC are powered up. The first pic indicates “RC Connected”. The other screen indicates “Aircraft Disconnected”. It looks like the AC doesn’t have any firmware versions installed.

This issue is resolved. My only issue now is that the gimbal dial is not functioning like it should.
