Today there was no wind and I had 20 minutes to take Mavic out of Heavy Smog above our city - flight was brief as my fingers got frozen and iPad mini 4 get black screen and restart the iOS I hit RTH and wait for iPad to recover but it restarts again so I landed it (hand lend) manually - and attached at the end of a clip funny flight log to the middle.

But footage is good

Great vid - do you think the signal loss was caused by the new app and IOS update or the 20' comm tower?

I'm suspect of that tower but I've heard folks having issues with the new firmware.

I suspect cold tower is harmless, on top of this I started 1-2 km away and iPad restarted, not Mavic, Thanks to DJI RTH as otherwise will be Very difficult to come home Blind

I start after last house in the city - but range is nowhere near impressive - further point was 1.5 km away I've been a lot further but blank return and landing where "refreshing" in the cold

I agree, when I fly I'm at 1500m in no time. But with the hill it's impressive. You have to trust your RTH a bit ! At least you'll remember this flight ahah

I remember all my flights and now I am used to those type of mischief - several months ago I had a lot more stressful experiences

No signal lost - but iPad restarts twice - it was cold and battery was at 40%

I would rather my iPhone drop a couple of times (which it never has this winter anyway) than use an Android device with a DJI drone - even one with an exceptional monitor. £900 for a screen on a £1000 drone... Nah

New iPad is gorgeous and cheaper, but I'll wait for new mini as it fits perfectly
