I don't think prop guards should be more that 10 dollars per each of them,

Everyone has a price point they are willing to buy them for- if you think more than $10 each is to much then don't buy them. My price point is much higher.

You need to decide at the end of the day using some Threat and Error Management (TEM) were threats (your future), like the possibility of bumping a wall doing a shoot inside a building do not become errors (your past), like bumping a wall without prop guards and breaking your Inspire and having it sent off for a 2 month repair job that cost $400 plus shipping.
Or you can use Risk vs Reward method to determine if you want to buy them-
Risk  -  Hitting something with your prop and causing damage to person, property or machine.
Reward - (For no prop guards if you hit something) Possible personal injury, property damage, legal action and/or a broken Inspire.

Prop guards are not a replacement for sensible fling but a safe guard that may help prevent bad things happening.

I would not use them all the time but there are certain shoots that they could reduce the threats and risks.

Cheers

Wait 6 months, you will have them from a chinese after market company for 15USD the full set.
Making then cost nothing, but the R&D has no price, when you buy something brand new, you have to consider that you pay for it.

As I found out ... filming in Dubrovnik with two damaged birds... and stress will I finish project and all because I didn't have prop guards.
Having prop guards is essentially if you fly near objects.

No price can pay for my loose of time developing prop guards.  Ruff estimation for engineer and technicians and 3d printing of prototypes is around 10.000$I will sell maybe 10. So one set for1000$.

On the other hand real price for 4 piece of plastics and screws is around 20$
So we decided to help those 10 people who are is same problems as we and give them instructions how to make their own copy of prop guards.

As a general rule of thumb I do not recommend prop guards for many reasons.
1. They will change the flight characteristics of the drone sometimes in a manner that will cause a crash.  They will also make it more susceptible to wind.
2. They give newbs a sense of security that doesn't actually exist, if the unthinkable does happen you will notice that the prop guards saved neither your bird nor your props nor the object you run into.
On impact they will generally flex upward right into the prop they are designed to protect destroying it and causing instant and catastrophic failure.
If you need prop guards your flying to close,  aside from certain special situations like say building inspection where the guards will not be expected to protect soft fleshy targets.
3. If in a crash you have extended the point of impact another say 7 inches from the center of mass causing a greater force to the frame almost guaranteeing serious damage to the bird.
Think basic physics and simple mechanics.  More leverage more force, does it hurt more if you get hit with a long stick or a short stick
These are but a few things to consider

You're talking about using guards all the time, and of course all those problems would come up. But in certain circumstances prop guards are a safety necessity. I just want to have some for those few cases.

The SmartPowerCharge ones are stupidly expensive, don't come in black and don't ship to Europe. Too bad, because the others seem worse.
