Everyone has a price point they are willing to buy them for- if you think more than $10 each is to much then don't buy them. My price point is much higher.
You need to decide at the end of the day using some Threat and Error Management (TEM) were threats (your future), like the possibility of bumping a wall doing a shoot inside a building do not become errors (your past), like bumping a wall without prop guards and breaking your Inspire and having it sent off for a 2 month repair job that cost $400 plus shipping.
Or you can use Risk vs Reward method to determine if you want to buy them-
Risk - Hitting something with your prop and causing damage to person, property or machine.
Reward - (For no prop guards if you hit something) Possible personal injury, property damage, legal action and/or a broken Inspire.
Prop guards are not a replacement for sensible fling but a safe guard that may help prevent bad things happening.
I would not use them all the time but there are certain shoots that they could reduce the threats and risks.
Cheers
