Hoping that someone from DJI will read this, please allow the camera to take a photo while recording a video, so that we don't have to choose between the one or the other.

Whilst reviewing your recorded video from your Mavic on your Mac you can pause the footage and export a single frame to picture anyway and save in photos to edit as you would normally.
The P4P has the ability to take stills whilst recording but that is due to it's mechanical shutter. The Mavic has an electronic shutter...

I don't think the shutter matters. The iPhone is able to take stills while recording so it could all be done in software.
