Thank you very much for all these pictures, look great! :-)
But what it this Micro USB connector on the RC (first picture below)? Can it be removed? If not, I am going to have a big problem with both my tablet and CrystalSky holders.
And what does the sticker on the second picture below cover? Very curious...And heartfelt congratulations again! You are probably the first among us "normal" users to hold it in his hands .

I'm guessing you don't have a Mavic Pro , it is the same as with the Mavic that's what you would call the OTG cable in the spark , the remote has a micro usb on the side to connect your phone directly , by default dji ships the lightning connection connected but if you want to connect a crystal sky or an android phone , they give you a micro usb to usb type c or micro usb to micro usb cable, so you can definitely change it , for your second question that is just a protective sticker that i havent peeled off yet , that part of the Air is metallic, and im guessing dji put the protective film to protect the metal against scratched during transport.

Spot on - the RC also has a USB port at the bottom for CrystalSky or iPad connection. Be sure to remove the micro USB lead to the left of the remote if connecting a USB lead to the bottom.

It's very similar to the charging hub of CrystalSky, just for four instead of two batteries at the same time.

Don't calibrate the compass if you are not asked to do it would be my recommendation. And don't calibrate anything else either if not asked to do it. Looking forward to your further reports, thank you again!

And I am curious to see what Mavic Air icon will be added on your profile if they have thought of creating one already for the Air.

Great, but go for the firmware updates first of all with DJI Assistant for both the Air and the RC would be my recommendation. Otherwise you might end up struggling with many things at the same time.

DJI assistant 2 does not recognize the aircraft , ill have to do it with the DJI go 4 app , which i dont like

That's not the best option indeed. Let's check if there is a new version of DJI Assistant that I somewhat expected to be required for Air...

Got it had to use DJI Go 4 , i had 1.2.0 and when i connected the air it would display as mavic 2-3 once i clicked on it it will just be a blank page with no info , i think they need an updated version of assistant 2 for the air  , but activation and firmware update went smooth using DJI go 4 with Iphone 7 plus, its done , just have to calibrate the compass is asking for it is all over the place.

That’s the same as Mavic controller, you will no longer need an otg to connect your Crystalsky to remote it will just plug straight in normal usb from Crystalsky.

I just looked at this thread but I'm very curious for a comparison on how the MP does compared to its new little bro the MA. I see u have flown a MP previously so your insight/ first flight experience will give mngr more clarity on if i will scoop one up.

Thank you, I have understood that I believe, but I was referring to that thing in the left clamp of the RC in red circle of the picture I have posted. If this could not be removed I could not place my tablet and CS holder in the RC clamps. But I am confident now that it can be removed since otherwise my holders which were originally designed for Mavic Pro wouldn't work there either.
