You can infer from this that we in Europe are not allowed to transmit at the same power as in the US so we have reduced range.

But of a bummer but what can you do?

Hmm. So it can't be a limit on transmitter power in the EU causing the reduced range.

So, if the rame is 4000m in the US then 4000m must be possible, so why is it limited in the EU/UK? They both use the exact same band on 2.4Ghz.

the fcc regulations allow more decibels of signal strength on wifi.
and mavic pro uses ocusync which is different from wifi.

Damned good WIFI signal if it can even reach 2K out. Line of sight, with the hubble telescope. Don't need 2K never mind 4K.

THat is only in open space, no obstacles and no interference from other WiFi sources .. like houses. Also do not forget that this AIR only has one GPS.

I have an Air on order. It will be my first drone (Although I just received a Syma today for flying practice) so I probably won't be sending it off to its limits.

Obstacles and terrain will definitely affect the performance of Wi-Fi and OcuSync as well. I know there’s a lot of conflicting info out there on the new Mavic Air, but specs show it uses the same tech as most other DJI drones in regards to GPS. It uses both GPS + GLONASS. Looking forward to testing it out soon!

I think your question is why are the 2.4GHz power limits different between the US and EU?  Different folk – different conditions – different geography – different history - different regulators and views on what is acceptable.  It's similar to why are car speed limits different between the US and UK? why there are differences in vitamin intake recommendations? or why are the gun laws different?

I have to say that DJI have done an amazing job within the power level limits - to get digital video back over the range they have with so little power is a real example to the rest.  Elswhere I regularly see people breaking the law with high power levels to achieve the same distances.

Correct, even if, they define Vision Compass under new Flight Autonomy 2.0 as an alternate compass....
