Does anyone know if there is going to be Course Lock or Home Lock on the Phantom 3? I assume there will be, I just haven't seen anything mentioning where these options are with the new controller and app.

Course Lock will be available on introduction.  Home Lock will happen later.

Of the two, home lock is by far the more useful for me. I use it as a simple way to bring the drone back home without having to resort to the riskier RTH feature.

I use course lock all the time and rarely home lock.  Course is a must when using dual remote with Phantom series.

Both modes are very useful. Personally i've used HL very often to let the P2V Plus come back and for circling around a building (i.e. a church). I hope the P3 will get HL feature like P2V Plus.

you know when DJI activated home lock? is very useful for circling around a building monuments... is a option very important...

ale8184, the firmware release coming out next week will include the POI (point of interest) feature. That'll be much more useful if you want to circle an object.

Curious - does the POI literally just circle? Can it be used to orbit a rectangular building.  I am guessing it won't because how would one set the corner points.

thats where waypoint flying comes into play. before going airborn you would set your flight plan up in the app, or what ever way DJI chooses to do it then you can put it up and let it fly the course while you operate and point the camera

Makes sense. That should be really cool to try.

Hope PHANTOMHelp.com is right as I'm waiting the issue of the features HL and POI to buy a Phantom3 Pro.
