Can anyone tell me if APAS works within Activetrack? And does it work going both backwards and also forwards? The demos I have seen have only shown it working when being manually operated with the controller which seems like a limited implementation because it would be most useful in Activetrack.

So it doesn't work in the mode it would be most useful - activetrack. So it's only for manual control, not very useful then.
So when it is following me in active track and a tree gets between me and the drone, it will still just stop and fall out of activetrack like the Mavic Pro?

OK I found out that APAS can be enabled within DJI GO 4 to work within Activetrack but it is not enabled by default.

APAS isn't available on the Mavic Pro.  Unless they added it later.

APAS isn't but there is the option in the app for the Mavic Pro to move backwards or around objects that it senses when using active track and tap fly - this feature has been built into the software of the MP for about a year now.
