Have someone test CSC command in flight?

I mean, it's possible that if you hold a high altitude switch off the engine and then start them again with the same function?
Anybody tried this?
Can of course be useful to be able to do this.
If, for example flying so high that the wind is too strong up there so that you can not fly home.
If you then turn the engine so that the valleys down to the lower level & on the way, to save battery power.
What do you think?

Hello Cable Yug

There are a few vid's no utube about this but it is not recommended because there is no way to stop the free fall if you do it.

OK.
I do not want to be the first to test either;-)
Just a thought :-)
I will check utube.
Are unsure of what to look for.
Have not found when I searched for it before.

32' + 64' + 128' = 224'
That's how far you would drop in 3 seconds with motors shut off.  It would take the Phantom that long to restart and regain control at the minimum.  You're going to crash.

Ok.
Understands it.
But the films I have seen who have had problems with the wind takes the drone has flown type 1000 meters or higher.
The day I win money on the lottery, I will try it;-)
But not now.
Took months to save for my drones this time: - /

It's those people that go 1000 meters high are the ones that give this hobby a bad name.

I have seen a few videos where the phantom had lost power and they all rolled over and fell to the ground upside down. Anyhow you wouldn't need to shut off the motors just hold the throttle all the way down and it will come down.

I am curious about this as well. Upside down is no problem. The drone will right itself once the props start up. RTH will not work after that maneuver since "home" will be some point you plummeted past (much like a certain coyote holding an "Oh No!" sign). Another thing that probably won't be a problem is that toroidal vortex since the motors will not have run long enough to form one. The thing that will be a problem is simple inertia and time. I suspect that the smart controller will think it has a bad GPS fix with the altitude dropping rapidly when you try to start it up.

Yes.
Here you can see how quickly it straightens itself after having been up & down.
But yes, homepositon will not work?
Or?
It's not closing down the drone.
Only the motors.
Same for the GPS i think.
