Today I tried to test new APAS function of Mavic Air. I had a lot of disconnects in 5m range away from me. Be carefull and set properly your RTH function.

Had this issue only during this one flight... other flight with no problem (tested range and first disconnect was in 2.6km range - CE mode in Europe)... dont know what was the reason

Dead on arrival (it’s a DJI term to define warranty cover) - it basically means your drone is not fit for purpose and should be returned for immediate replacement. No drone should disconnect that close unless your device can not handle the app. What device are you using? Android?

Do the camera on the tripod have WiFi? Could also be your home router which cause this. Did you fly from the same spot the other flight?

Hi Stormer, just to verify, had you released the antennas on the drone? Please remember to unfold the antennas on the legs of the drone. And you can try to check the transmission quality and choose a channel with less interference. If it doesn't happen in other places, it might relate to the environment, you might need to change another place to fly. BTW, I wonder if you had attached the antennas booster on the RC, we don't recommend using it for the drone. Please keep us updated if the issue persists. Thank you.

Yes antennas released and no booster... Phone in airplane mode.. only 1 wifi around (from my router inside the house)... Then I tried connection inside house near router and no problem.. no disconnect in 10 minutes test...  Don't know what was wrong.. I was flying in this spot with Spark and Mavic Pro with no disconnects...

I am having the same problem any time I get to a height of about 50 feet. Instant disconnect. I am using the controller, with or without the phone attached this happens. In different locations and with different batteries. Tried reconnecting, tried calibrating compass. Any ideas?

i  had the same issue today, flying at a parking lot set among a lot of tall buildings i faced  disconnect and signal lost at about 20 meters...  after bringing it back to land and getting back home i realized i flew it with the antennas folded (first time owner here)

i agree..  and i think the folded antennas would've made it 10 times worse

Just my opinion, I don't think I'd fly using APAS anyway. I think it would hinder learning to fly it yourself effectively if the AC was doing part of the flying for you.

There was a heavy metal "Cage' in the back yard right next to you're drone and I noticed 2.5 Kilovolt Power Lines nearby, the EMR from those things is massive.

I definitely feel alittle sketched out about flying any substantial distance with this after my experience with it yesterday!  I was flying in Cathedral Park Portland OR and was getting complete disconnect from video/remote every few seconds and I was probably flying (Height 100ft  Distance 150ft) luckily I had set RTH before starting, granted there was a bridge nearby but it did not seem to effect the P3a and mavic pro at much greater distances.
In my opinion I believe DJI chose not to include Occusync in the Mavic air due to it competing if not exceeding the mavic pro which is at a higher pricepoint (DJI said occusync would not fit..)
