I have to travel a good ways to experiment; so, I would like to know as much as possible before I start running my battery down.

I believe that at the end of a dronie run the video is turned off and then the drone returns to its starting point.  I would like to film a smooth (automatic) return keeping the same subject as center point.

Questions:

Can I start recording before coming back?

Is the inbound route the same as the outbound route or straight line route?

If I set a waypoint at the starting point and fly back to that point, will the camera point at the subject the whole time?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Thanks.  I did check Premiere to make sure it could reverse a film clip.

Alternatively, when the record auto stops press the red X on the remote to quit quick shots - the drone will hover at that precise point in manual flight mode. Then press record and manually fly the drone back to you.

I haven't tried this, but most of the auto fly modes on the Mavic also let you act as "co-pilot" and use your remote to do things while the Mavic does its thing.  So, as soon as the Dronie finishes out in the distance, I'd suggest you immediately hit the "record" button.  I'll bet it flies back to you while recording.

Yes, it does record if you hit the record button on the way back.
