What I like about the Air is the gimbal protection, also at the same time I don't like loosing my 4.2 miles of flight distance I would rather use an OTG cable.  Can't have it all I guess.

Won't sell what I have (2 MPPs) but that doesn't mean I won't add an Air to the fleet.

I had MP, P4 then added a spark sold the Mp when purchased the spark then MPP then lost the P4(long story) got an I1.  I can only handle to have 2 drones they are just too much to keep up.  Now only with MP and I1.

I don't think you can deal with the flight time and the range when you get used to fly the MP or MPP.
So no, I definitely won't sell the MP for the MA but I don't mind getting a MA in my collection if the price gets lower.

**** The posts are shielded ****

Why is it "shielded"?  This was what I posted:
If you already have a MP/MPP do not sell if for MA

1. MA is a new and like many other new products, it's bound to have bugs/flaws and incompatibilities. Wait for a few months till they sort them out before you buy it.

2. MA has a shorter flight time and range (and is also much more susceptible to interference)

3. MA has more or less the same functionality as the MPP so you don't really gain much (more like a slight change than an actual upgrade)

4. If your current MP is working flawlessly (or close to no issue at all), buying a MA also mean taking chances and hoping that you'll get a non-defective and fully functional one

If one of the reasons you got the Platinum is because of the low noise, then once you fly the MA you will end up selling the MA, not the MPP.

Saw a video where a guy decided to test the Mavic Air flight distance over water. He started with a tailwind and had to ditch it on what looked like a little island (but was probably not an island. Hard to tell).

While occusync would be great for a more reliable signal, I don't think it would be possible to reach the maximum flight range and then fly back with the Mavic Air's battery time. I flew today and consistently got 15 minutes on each battery.

The guy who posted the video tried to fly out in Sport mode and I know this isn't the best way to cover the most distance.

I would never fly that far out, but I do wish I could have the Mavic Pro Platnum's battery time on a drone the size of the Mavic Air.

It does seem like a very robust little drone for sure. That said, the pro's do not make up for the con's for me as never fly under fountains or in rain and have never crashed a DJI drone so I prefer having OcuSync with a 25+ minute flight time and very quiet motors with double the flight modes and a FHD live feed and c.4K.

Although I flew my Mavic Pro this morning, And its a true delight to fly but with Mavic pro11 due I hope sometime this year and having purchased MavAir,  I think that if Mavic pro11 has a much improved camera then for me the MavAir and the Mavic Pro 11 seems like a perfect set up.

I agree, if the MP2 camera rivals or betters the P4P camera and manages to keep a fairly small footprint; then the MA and MP2 would be a fairly nice 1-2 punch..

After reading the posts form different users in regards of the problem found on MA, I think it might be wise to simply skip MA and wait for the "REAL" next generation of Mavic Pro .

Hope DJI would fix the MP2 problem before launch.   As a DJI user since phantom2, I would try not to buy the first batch of new products.

Did you not read all about the problems with Mavic Pro , while your still on the forum here you can still read them, yet you purchased Mavic Pro .

I read those too. That's why I did not buy it until most of the problem was solved.  As a DJI user since phantom2, I would try not to buy the first batch of new products.

Maybe read the first 10 threads in hardware section , you might be sending it back, still having as many problems if not a lot more than MavAir, but it’s early days for MavAir.

This indicates to me that DJI are looking to make their new drones a bit sturdier. Might I just mention also that it is nice to visit a forum where people are generally more civilised towards each other. It is a pleasure reading the various comments here.

I have a Spark, Mavic Air, Mavic Pro and Phantom 4 Pro. I will probably buy the Mavic Pro 2 and the Phantom 5 Pro when they come out, unless my wife sends me to rehab for my drone addiction.
