I'm a bit of a NASA/Space/Rocket lover and living in Orlando, FL has been amazing when it comes to rocket launches.

I was able to see the last NASA Space Shuttle before they retired them.

Anyway, today SpaceX will be doing their inaugural launch of the Falcon Heavy. The Biggest and baddest rocket since 1967 Apollo series. Unfortunately its a 1:30pm event but Ill be launching Drogon (Mavic Pro Plat) from the rooftop of my job and trying to catch the launch.

Here is a video I took a fee weeks ago from a smaller SpaceX launch. This was from my backyard:

Hope others can catch the launch and share! God bless America!

What a pity Elon Musk does not have a drone company.
He surely knows how to do some long range, interference-proof birds.
They even know how to RTH most of the time.

lol I get nervous watching my Mavic RTH, imagine trying to watch 3 larger than life drones RTH safely.

I hope I can catch it. Ive got some ND filters on my mavic but its pretty bright here and Im still 1hr away in Orlando. Not sure even if I had gone towards the launch if they were going to allow anything flying nearby.

But its been delayed up to 345EST and that only gives it a 15 min launch time before the 4pm cutoff.

Hopefully all goes well!

2 out of 3 RTH today, about the same success as DJI ;-) was awesome to watch that on a live broadcast though!

they really should get the camera on the drone boat sorted out - only thing more spectacular than a double succesfull landing would have been to see the crash. 0 - 5000km/h in 2 min, nice..

Unfortunately the clip sucks.

The skys were extremely bright and the rocket extremely faint. I was an hour away in Orlando by the way. By the view from the ground was spectacular! Especially the 2 boosters returning was really cool!

Night shots are obviously extremely better since its the brightest object in the sky.

I wasnt able to get the day off to go out there. I doubt they would allow anything within a 10 mile radius in the air during launch anyway. Probably would have watched my poor Mavic shot down with a missile from an F35 or something lol. Ill see what I can edit and post and report back.
