Hello Everybody,

I'm checking a friend's Inspire 1, it work fine but we can't see live video. I have no "No image Transmission signal" message that I read in other Threads.

I read many thread in this forum about this issue, like corrupted camera board, so I read camera's SD card, opened log files and saw lines 0800 and 1500 there are sw versions number, not "device no detected". ( Attached is log File).

Know somebody how to solve this issue?

The log looks good , Does the camera do the normal startup dance when first started ?  I would check the pins between the vibration board and the gimbal where they mate together, also check the two flat cables that come from the vibration board to the Aircraft itself , may have a kink .  Also check the Molex connectors that pug into the socket of the circuit board.

Also reset your cameras settings to the default .

I assume that the FW on the AC and the RC transmitter are both up to date as well as the Go app version .  If not sure be sure to list them from the "about " tab of the go app.  Be sure the entire system is fired up to be able to see all the versions .

lets start here .
Is this with the X3 camera ? or other ?  funny I have NEVER seen the DJI logo like that in the center of the screen .

Thanks for your comments,

Now you talk about camera dance!!!! I don't remember any camera dance... I go to check it.

I guess is X3 camera, the white none (is my first time with Inspire !).

Hi, there. In your case, I would recommend you reinstall your camera or wipe the connector with 95% alcohol, and a cotton swab, and let the alcohol air dry before turning on the camera. Also, if the problem remains, you can flash the firmware for further check. If it fails to update, please provide us the log. Its name is  “\MISC\LOG\WM610_FW_LOG_AB.txt”.

unfortunately this sounds and looks exactly as mine did . its called " bricking " and am afraid it has to be sent to dji for repair . I sent mine to a dji registered repairer in the uk hoping for some help but was told after inspection of the bricking fault and that dji would not allow any one but themselves to work on there cameras , so off to the Netherlands it has gone .
only one week ago but hopefully not too much longer to wait but I am doubtfull .

I think you have a fluty connection somewhere, look at the mesh between the vibration board and the camera itself .  You many need to loosen ever so slightly the two Philips screws on the camera circuit board.

I have a tips page with a picture of what I am referring to at the bottom of the page .  With the system on and the go app next to you jiggle the wires and see if live video pops up on the screen , You may have a pinched wire somewhere.  It could be something worse but lets start here ,

Just wondering about that DJI stripped logo in the center of the OP screen shot.  I cant duplicate that , does that give any indication to you or your mates of what that could indicate ?

Just wondering about that DJI stripped logo in the center of the OP screen shot.  I cant duplicate that , does that give any indication to you or your mates of what that could indicate ?

Hi Donnie, are you using same APP ver I'm using.

I use iPad mini and iPad Air 2 but show the same DJI Logo, but only if drone and camera are connected, if I detach camera DJI Logo disappear.

I like iPad can't show the video!!!

Hi Donnie, are you using same APP ver I'm using.

I use iPad mini and iPad Air 2 but show the same DJI Logo, but only if drone and camera are connected, if I detach camera DJI Logo disappear.

That is my point ,  I thought that may give a clue as to what is wrong with your camera.  I tried it On my system and disconnected the camera and could not get that DJI logo with stripes in the center of my screen no matter what I did.
I do notice that the camera is ot doing a startup dance at all, It would normally spin all the way aroound and  tilt and pan mpomentarily .  It is getting powere so it may bre a bad flat ribboncable inside the camera that is fairly difficult to repair on your own .  Do  you have a friend with another X3 camera to tesst on the Aircraft by any chance?

Did you have a hard landing or when did this happen ?  Was it right after flying or after a FW update or what , anything that can give a clue to the cause .
did you inspect the wires I talked about earlier and inspect the black  flat ribbon cable on the camera gimble itself ?  it is wound up in there but you can see portions of it , make sure not damaged in any way . May need a magnifying glass .

The log in my estimation looks good .

Unfortunately I don't meet somebody else own another Inspire 1 or X3 camera. This is not mine, is from a friend, he said that he doesn't know what happened, he flew on Saturday and all fine and Sunday when he went to fly...  Surprise!!! No video!!! The drone is perfect, has no any crash, He upgraded firmware some time ago and he has no problem after do it.

My hobby is RC helis, also I have an old Phantom 2 and one  custom S1000, I have no experience with this new machines but I think now, after read many blogs about Inspire 1 that it is a very fragile machine, there are so many angry people who pay for one of these thinking that it is a professional device and after a sw upgrade or without an apparent reason they need to send out their drones for repair and pay about 250 usd for it. I don't recommend anyone to buy one of these.

So, I checked all black flat cable connections and all is perfect, also I checked all remain cables and connectors and I see all perfect.

Is there any way to check camera video in some place in the drone?

Gimbal - I can note that gimbal is powered and I can hear a weird noise coming from somewhere in the gimbal. If I take out the gimbal from the drone and startup it without the gimbal, the App should a gimbal disconnect message, but it doesn't appear if the gimbal is assembled. So I think there are no electronic or cables problem with the gimbal. I don't know if it is true. Does the gimbal need calibration?

Is it possible I have live video if there is any gimbal problem? or is independent gimbal and video signal?

The log looks good , Does the camera do the normal startup dance when first started ?  I would check the pins between the vibration board and the gimbal where they mate together, also check the two flat cables that come from the vibration board to the Aircraft itself , may have a kink .  Also check the Molex connectors that pug into the socket of the circuit board.

Also reset your cameras settings to the default .

Mine does that logo in the screen sometimes, i can’t figure it out.

You could try to calibrate the gimbal , on the camera  icon tab there is a camera gimbal calibration option , You should first do an IMU calibration and then follow up with the Camera gimbal  calibration . ( imucalibration is found by tapping the main system status ribbon  at the  top of the page of main dji go system screen , the  calibration IMU is same page for comapss calibration etc)

There is No port or other way that I know of to view the video form the AC  .  If you checked all the connections I think you will need to send the system in .

With the entire system on have you jiggled the wires that go from the vibration board  to the AC and jiggle the flat ribbon cable as well ?   I know that is not very scientific but if you get any change then you will be pointed in the right direction .  did you loosen the two screw I talk about on the tips page , you may be getting power contact but  not much more , if you have not done so please try , it is very simple .

Other than that I am out of ideas, may need to send it in for repair , once again the long look good .

***As far as not recomending I have to dissagree, I have had nothing but outstanding  service from my dji system and  you need to consider of the tens of thousand  that are sold only a small percentage are going to have problems .  Many times I find it to be user error of some sort causing  the issue ( Not sayin it is in your case ) or owners not taking the time to read the insructions . DJI has a LONG way to go to improve  customer service but I think they make the best product out there.

Hi Donnie, thank you so much for your comments and tips, I appreciate it so much.

Is so late my question but what is the vibration board?

I checked all cables connections but I don't know exactly what the vibration board is.

Well...

After a lot of time spend studying how gimbal operate, its behavior and seeing a lot of information on internet, I finally could make that gimbal works fine now it dance like a professional dancer , the only thing is that it not point to AC nose after dance. It wasn't an easy job!!!

I tried to do IMU calibration and gimbal calibration but only could to do gimbal calibration, IMU has no calibration option, only "Normal" text.

Video problem remain.

Also I connected a HDMI monitor to RC to discard the problem is the iPad.

Now....

I think camera isn't the problem, while camera is not installed on AC or it is starting up, APP show an "No Image Transmission Signal" message, when camera is ready the message isn't more.

Is it possible the problem is the RC? or RC's video decoder?

Hi Donnie, thank you so much for your comments and tips, I appreciate it so much.

Is so late my question but what is the vibration board?

The vibration board is what  the Camera hooks onto . (  kinda of floats under the Aircraft via the 4  round dampening balls  )   It dampens the vibration so the camera dos not get vibration form the props etc.
