Sucks that you got taken....
When I got my drone, I just went to the actual FAA site and then from there I drilled down until I found their registration page for drones. I know its to late now, but hopefully if anyone else reads this, they'll do what I did...
yeah. hindsight and all that...
I had done what i thought was the right amount of research prior to purchasing. so when it arrived, i had a checklist of things to do before my first flight...
download go4 app
download AirMap app
charge batteries
charge controller
register drone with FAA
---
once all charged, update firmware on device and all batteries.
check airspace and GO FLY
so when it arrived, i just did a quick google search and clicked on the first link that wasn't an ad.
at least i only got taken for $20. the site i went to also had an option for the ADVANCED Package.
it came with stickers and an actual FAA card, not just the PDF
that package was $45!!
Since i was at work, and we have a laminating machine, and a label maker, I could make my own wallet card from the pdf, and make my own labels for the drone, and not wait for the mail.
glad i did that! i've found a few places that will make nice stickers for around $7 if i want more professional looking stickers.
to take this topic a little further off the original, how do you guys feel about those sites that allow you to register your drone and give you a website to go to if it's found? is that something that you guys/gals do?
