I'm leaning toward this will not happen. Everything the Spark II allegedly will have, the Mavic Air already has. Why would DJI introduce a new drone with basically the same features as an existing one?

So that probably means that they will never make the Spark 1 use an OTG cable...
Make those who want that to buy the new Spark.
But the whole thing sounds too close to the Mavic Air to make much sense.

I think the Mavic Air  is the Spark 2.

It wouldn't make sense for DJI to create a Spark 2 that has the same capabilities as the Mavic Air.  That would completely cannibalize the Mavic Air sales.

i've flown several rc helis (full collective). race drones, mini drones. i must say after the spark being my first dji product i'm sure it will also be my last.

I am in RC since decades and flying pretty much everything in RC and I must say that the Spark is good for it's price.
Well, if you are looking for piloting thrills it is probably not the best as it is a self flying camera platform and it is not comparable with any racing drone.
