is supposed to start without run the app?

I believe from reading other posts that you can't start the motors without using the DJI Pilot App.  Can anyone confirm this?

Yes I see that , I was talking with customer serves but even they don't know, Other guys on a post says need the app just for the initial setup

You need the app. Without it you can't register the device and pair. Borrow an android device to register P3 and then fly without app until iOS app is released.

I am giving this advice based on what I had to do in order to fly mine.

I don't see why there would be a problem. You are plugging the device to the remote. The registration is for the P3 warranty.

Yes. I needed to in order to get the damn thing flying.

First thing it asks you is to put your name to start the 1 year warranty. Then it asks you to login to your DJI account. Then it asks you if you want to fly in beginner mode... goes through tutorial... ready to fly. You can now take off with or without the app.

Thanks So much " you are more helpful than the 24,7 customer service from DJI lol. I will do that tomorrow with a friend's phone (android)
