Ok, so this has been kicking my butt since I got my Mavic Air.
I already own the smallest Crystal Sky Monitor that I use with my P3P.I can't live without FPV flight.

The latest firmware fixes the link to the Mavic Air and Crystal Sky.
With the Mavic Air, I can use the HDMI out of the Crystal Sky as my FPV to my Fat Sharks - it would be great if DJI sent the FPV data like the Phantom does, to the HDMI as an option, but that is for another thread. So FPV to the Fat Shark is solved.

So how do I use the Crystal Sky with the Mavic Air and retain quick disconnect with my Phantom too?
Buy the stock DJI Mavic to Crystal Sky mount? Nope. There is a better way!

Buy the stock DJI Crystal Sky mount - the one that goes to the Phantom/Inspire Controller - and then buy the Polar Pro Mavic to Crystal Sky Mount. Not the way DJI wanted, but it is fantastic as the Polar Pro was engineered to do exactly what I did.

I called Polar Pro to verify too.

Everything is now solved!

The only issues?

PolarPro will not sell the lower part separately, so you have to buy the whole thing - I asked.
The DJI stock mount is not cheap either, and there is a slight curve to the bottom of the mount to match the Phantom/Inspire controllers that would be better flat to match the PolarPro lower.

Thanks for this. It is at least a solution.

Just for not making a mistake, I need this:
Polar Pro Crystalsky Mavic mount
and this
DJI Crystalsky mount Phantom
and combine it to the above?

I like that idea, as I prefer the DJI quick release, but more costly. I’ve just purchased the 5.5, and am waiting on its delivery. Given I also need to buy a charger too, I think I’ll be using Velcro for a bit, until my funds are looking healthier.

Yep.
When you screw the DJI mount to the Polar Pro, just make sure you don't tighten too much, since there is a curvature to the DJI mount that does not match the Polar Pro. I used the stock DJI screw that comes with the DJI mount.

I'd love to know how you got around the holes not aligning to the handles of the Air controller?

Ahh...so I would need a Spark/Controller!!!

Then I wouldn't have spark handles?
I think that route would be even more expensive!
Unless you can buy Spark Handles as parts?

I don’t believe you can buy the handles, I think he tried, or someone did.

So at the end of the day, my (and others too) method is probably cheaper, preserves the CS disconnect, allows adjustable angles, doesn't crimp the DJI cord into the USB on the controller and even looks stock too. Not a bad solution IMHO. ;)

Yep. But still too rich for me at the mo. Two strips of Velcro is more my budget

Flyinghighusa also produce the plate by itself, however you still need the DJI bracket, but it is a bit cheaper

https://flyhighusa.com/product/m ... r-mounting-bracket/

I now use this with the Spark controller and the CS, after the jaws transplant to the MA controller

A little bit different to the Polar pro, but it has been designed to fit the DJI CS Phantom style mount perfectly and it's flat to match the base of the bracket

Yours is a great solution for a new CS owner, many of us have the existing DJI Mavic CS mount already so I was trying to figure out a solution for the MA using the existing Mavic mount.

I don't tend to use the CS with the Spark a lot, so when you swap the handles between the controllers you can still use both, just the Spark with a normal tablet or phone held in the transplated MA jaws

Mine is only a temp solution until DJI decide to produce a compatible bracket, some others have elongated the holes in the jaws and and filed down sections of the inner plate, but I didn't want to be so destructive just in case I wanted to sell the MA.

I’ve just bought the PolarPro unit. The quick release would be nice but not justified at the moment.

Cool. That works. I've had my CS for a long time, been using it on my P3P, so that is where I come from.

Yep. If I only had one drone, and one controller, I think the Polar Pro is the nicest out there.

Ciao,

I know...this is just so clean.

I actually prefer this to having the CS mounted "above" the controller (not on the same plane).

Cheers...
