With my home build camera drones i have created a mode that i really like. I call it Static tripod.

Basically it is a mode in which the drone stays fixed in the X and Y position. Yawing still works and the pitch stick is used to control the camera up and down. The throttle stick still works so you can ascend / descend. With the controller in Mode 1 i now have the camera movable with 1 stick, like a security camera. This is great for following things from a static point.

I would like to request this mode for the DJI drones also, since it should be a simple addition. Controlling the camera from the stick is the main request.

You can yaw the drone in Tripod mode and tilt the gimbal simultaneously whilst it’s hovering. Is that not the same thing?  

Not with the same stick, that is the point. Sticks work much better than the small wheel in the back.

So you are saying the stick gives better control than the wheel ?

Yes. It works better for me if the entire view is on one stick. Much easier to follow objects.

Cant u just do that with active track in spotlight mode?

That is not manual control.

Really? I find it much easier to use the stick with the wheel myself.

Spotlight is where you manually control the drone with just the sticks and the drone fixes the gimbal on the subject. Not to be confused with Active Track Trace.

I know but that has no manual control of the camera position through one stick. If there is no fixed view position spotlight cannot be used.

I hear ya op i guess the only thing u can do is request it from dji?
