I owned an Osmo gimbal, which worked well, but recently upgraded to the Zenmuse X5 and have had issues getting it to function properly.

My current setup is: Osmo with X5 adapter (firmware v1.4.0.70)

X5 Camera Olympus ED 14-42mm Lens (with balance ring)

iPhone 6 with DJI GO App iOS Version: v3.1.10

The app connects, and I am able to view the video feed, but the Gimbal is completely limp. The right side LED on the handle illuminates yellow, and the unit beeps approximately every 2 seconds. In addition, taping the trigger two times causes the entire unit to power down, and then restart. After reading the forums, I have tried a number of things to help with the problem:

- re-updating the firmware

-trying new batteries

- re-seating the X5 adapter and the camera

- Purchasing a NEW osmo and X5 adpater, and trying all of the above

All of this would seem to point to the X5 camera itself, and yet it has been working perfectly on my inspire 1 for a while.

Any miracle workers out there?!

SOLVED!!!

it's a weird one, but it worked.  At the advice of a DJI rep, I updated the X5's firmware through the Inspire 1.  After that, the gimbal powered up on the Osmo and was fully functional.
