Ok. So I have a p2 plus with a relatively new battery (like 30 discharges) It says the battery life is 90% or so in the Assistant program. What happens is, after about 35% the battery plummits at an alarming rate. I get about 10 minutes give or take as I did a hover test today. I got 16 plus minutes on my other 2 batts. Any ideas if this can be "fixed"? Or do I just recycle the darn thing. Thanks for the help.
Have you cycled the battery, basically taken it down to the lower limit and then fully recharged it? I'm sure someone will chime in here having the info on hand, but every 20 discharges, you need to cycle the battery to get the best results from it. I believe you'll find a better synopsis in the manual. Hope it fixes the issue! Barney
Hey Barney. Yes, I have cycled it down and recharged it in conjunction with the manual. Something else worth noting is that it seemed to charge faster than it should have. I saw another post where someone said 30 to 50 recharges is all they seem to get out of their dji lipo batteries. Has anyone else seen this to be true? If so, this may be more expensive of a hobby than I thought.
I'm having the same issue with one of my batteries. I charge until the lights go out but when I use it, it will drain in about a minute. I swap batteries and there is no issue. I've only got about 15 charges on it. I will keep an eye out for any possible solutions. Please keep me posted as well.
I'm having the same issue with one of my batteries. I charge until the lights go out ...
My too, I have two batteries with only about 12 to 15 charges each. One looses it's charge within 5 min of flying and the other says that the battery has a cell problem but checking them they are reading fine. I can't find the supplier I got them from.. so this is pissing me off.. no help from DJI. Now I returning two new batteries that as not comparable with the 2+ even though they where advertised as such.. I love the visions but it would be good if they sorted out the problems before releasing new products.
Genuine DJI batteries have a 3 month warranty, which in the LiPo world is quite good.
If you buy 3rd party batteries then you cant complain to DJI that they are not compatible.
Following the storage instructions is important for long life.
I am having this same issue with all my batteries since the last firmware update, this is not a battery issue. I have tested my batteries in my friends who didn'tdo the uupdate and they work fine. I also don't think the batteries are as low as it is saying, I think it is getting calculated wrong some how.
The app shows 5% but the led in my battery indicates about 25%. Which would make sense for me since my battery works perfect until I get to 25% then drops to 5% within a second or 2
On your lipo is the one green led solid or does it flash once in a while. One led solid is between 12.5% And 25% level If it's flashing then it's even lower 0-12.5%. If you are in the charging process one led can be from 0 to 25% anywhere in that range not that it is in fact 25%, could be lower. The led's are just indicators. The only true method of determining the actual charge on the battery is with a volt meter. Full.y charged the battery voltage would be 12.8 volts and discharged would be down to 8.4>.
That is why we think we have a 25% charge and then in a few the battery drops quickly. I use to think one of the led was 1/4 charge the second was 1/2 third was 3/4 and 4th wa full. Not so.
Now I just make sure it a 100% before take off and make sure I have enough to return home. That's the key I recon.
for mine I know it is not the battery because I tested all my batteries in my friends p2v+ and they work normal, only difference is he is on old firmware
One way to isolate battery or software.. Battery in hand. Hold down red button until it blinks. After it blinks, let go. Look at the batteries green leds. If all are not burning at that time,it is an indication of physical degradation. One of my P2 batteries is well into 100 flights. I am very lucky that I found that info. I checked my old battery and sure enough...only three were burning. My new battery does wonderful. Don't know if this is the problem...just sharing what I have learned.
I can only assume since my battery issues started the first flight after upgrade, I have read about many others having battery issues right after upgrade and the fact that i tested them in a old firmware bird all worked normal.
