I painted my p4 advance fluorescent orange, the controller painted fluorescent lime green and my iPad Pro fluorescent pink. I also wear white gloves when I fly....

It will work fine. I have a spare white one that I use with my Obsidian.

Aloha Genghis,

     The batteries are interchangeable but the firmware have to be updated.  You are reminded each time a long duration P4P battery is used in a P4 and vise versa.  Unless they fixed that with recent updates.  It was that way back when the P4P first came out.

     I never did find out what the firmware difference was, just that it was needed.  I stopped swapping them.

I just thought the issue was about the color, for which I assumed there were differences based on the color...
My bro and I swap batts or I should say he has used some of mine in his P4S, mine being the P4P standard batt (aka "high capacity") and he has experienced no issues up or down nor I using them after he did, I didn't expect any either.

     My apologies, it is the difference between the High Capacity battery and the Normal battery that I was talking about.  High Capacity and Normal batteries have different firmware (or used to).  Unless the Intelligent Battery firmware has been made common to both, you may get a "Firmware Update Required" warning if you swap them.  

     Since I stopped swapping my apples and oranges, I do not know if that firmware has been made common to both types of batteries.   Maybe someone who does still swap the High Capacity and Normal batteries can weigh in on this subject.

So let me clarify, yes, as of this past January my brother was using my P4P Batteries in his P4S i.e. using my high capacity batts in his standard model without problem or issue.  No update was required when doing so that either one of us noted.  Now I did not use his lower capacity batt in my P4P but I suspect there would have not been an issue either if I had done so.

     Mahalo for the input.  I think the problem may have been solved.  But High Capacity batteries are interchangeable and Normal batteries are interchangeable.  From what Genghis is saying, it looks like High Capacity and Normal batteries are now interchangeable.

     Since I have both and my systems are up-to-date, I will be testing this interchangeability when the weather gives me a break.  Mahalo again!
